Really, it's not like the Republican party in general tends cares to see or make much of a distinction between Muslim terrorists and Muslim refugees.

But they care about their coffers. And there's ample business interests in the countries Dump just antagonized.

And, of course, given his support for the Wall, which will cost an obscene amount of money and likely not fulfill its basic function, it's not like he's really able to put his own self-interest above his prejudices (and the ones his base shares).

I can only shake my head at people not taking creatures like that at their word.

To be fair, most people don't really believe what politicians promise when they are seeking to be elected. I predicted that Trump would be a fascist and people accused me of being a scare-monger, but I am still suprised at the rate of which Trump is moving.

It actually makes sense from a demagogue's point of view to do all these controversial things at once. It's the whole bed of nails technique that Trump's been using so successfully. Any one controversial comment or act could sink a politician, but do them all at once and the media don't really have time to talk about it before it gets pushed out of everybody's consciousness by something new.

The problem is that we base our expectations on past experience. Politicians being two faced, insincere and careful to avoid any criticism from the media. But that doesn't mean to say that something really new can't happen. Fascism can take root when people think that it's not possible for it to ever make a come back.

All bets are off with Trump. We just don't know how this will play out.

Surely you have Constitutional Articles and Clauses to support your position instead of personal attacks?  The original post was about the legal aspects of Trump's actions.  I have presented evidence that his acts are legal.  Your response has been to make personal attacks on me.

That may be true of politicians. It's not true of agitators. They live and thrive on radicalism. So when one of them says what he has in mind, I assume he will be true to his promises/threats. That much has history taught us.
