Feminism in prehistoric times / primitive culture

It seems quite possible that in some primitive culture, a bunch of women became unsatisfied with customary roles and power of each sex, and pursued a upward revision to the power and role while formulating some theoretical basis for the advocated change based on perceived equitability and fairness.

OP: I see you posting this same question in multiple forums, at least 3 others. (Bobby?......)

Well, why don't you give a scenario. Imagine a primitive culture, and then see if you can imagine how there would be a perceived need for a feminist movement.

Wait; you want Alex to make your case for you?

I mean, I know he's more than capable, but shouldn't that be... you know... your job?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Valkyrie,

Do you not think that in a primitive society, survival depended on gender roles? Also, do you not think that religions in fact reinforced the very gender roles that were necessary for survival?

Next thing you ask me to think of a question to answer.

How far back are we talking? Primitive cultures like the Dark Ages, or primitive as in primordial ooze?
Do you mean a scenario in which an organism would get all bent out of shape because she was expected to do the laundry since she had a shorter flagellum?

That and a complex law system and wealth/class differences, a more rigidly enforced social hierarchy that comes with living in a developed society.

Proabably also why you see more acceptance of gender variance and homosexuality in tribal cultures (even though that is detrimental to reproduction and probably shouldn't be that way).

No, as I've already stated.

And many of the gender roles forced upon humanity by religions are to the detriment of society, not the benefit.

I suspect this is building up to, "women must know their place and feminism is bad".

Tell me I'm wrong.

Valkyrie,

Are you saying that gender roles were not defined and practiced for the purpose of survival, or are you saying that even if they were that they were unnecessary for survival?
