Bill Maher Draws Backlash After Using Racial Slur

I think comedians with tv shows have the tough task of living a double life. They have their comedian world, where race isn't dealt with in the same way, because all those people care about is if something is funny. But then they are on tv, and they can be forced to answer to someone who's never watched their show, but saw that 15 second clip and is trying to organize a boycott to get them fired.

I'm amazed any of those people ever keep any gig with sponsors.

That's why Maher is on HBO. No sponsors needed.

I love his show, and I'll continue to watch no matter what Deray McKesson or Chance the Rapper say. His humor is not for everyone, and to a lot of people his ego and type of humor are not for them. But his ratings are better than ever and he says a lot of things that liberals need to hear. And the outcry after he made this joke only goes to prove his point.

Remember the incident where Stephen Fry gave Jenny Beavan a BAFTA for her costume design on Mad Max: Fury Road and said: "Only one of the great cinematic costume designers would come to the awards ceremony dressed like a bag lady." And a bunch of people swarmed him on Twitter, not knowing (and likely not caring) that they were friends who had known each other for two decades at least and not even waiting to see if she took it in good humour. He eventually deleted his Twitter account. Fortunately it's back up, but you can see the problem here.

So you say niggah because that one is a sign of respect and others and bad going to be honest.
What Bill Maher said was i am a house niggah and this is part where i find the most news outlets are fake news.
They go out the way said he used the er version of the word you can clearly hear him say niggah not nigger. Clearly

Also, I can detect a hint of a fake Southern accent in his voice with the "I'm a house nigga" line. Here's a personal rule of thumb: if someone who doesn't normally speak with a Southern accent uses a fake Southern accent to say something racist, odds are, you can't take that at face value. They are most likely trying to denigrate the old racists and not perpetuate the hateful bullshit.

Usually, I don't take the the self-censorship position, but in this case I do. In America, the legacy of slavery and racial segregation makes it a special case. Attaining those freedoms was so hard fought and their prior affect so socially devastating that constant vigilance is necessary.

If liberals are the cornerstone of anti-racism and seeing how they are reacting to this incident, essentially trivializing it, Republicans are probably set for their next election.

It's not racism it's just using the word nigger in a joke.  There's no implication that the black race are inferior in the joke.  

If Donald Trump had made the joke the outraged people would be defending and the defending people would be outraged.  It's like a sports game in that way.
