There's no reason for atheists to be "like" other atheists. It's just their take on one issue, not the definition of their life.

Bill Maher may call himself a progressive, but how much does he really want to see that progress? Bernie's political beliefs are the most popular in the US at the moment, and instead of wanting to capitalize on that to see some real change, Maher says that people need to get on board with supporting the Dem next time around, no matter who it is and how horrible the candidate is. Bill doesn't care at all how bad they are. He's not even saying, "Let's try to get the most progressive person in, but if we fail, I guess we have to support the Dem candidate because they're the lesser evil." No. Instead of that he's telling progressives to get over themselves and stop expecting the politicians they support to be anything less than corrupt, lying bastards owned by Wallstreet and the MIC. Maher has no issue with the corruption and doesn't care about progressivism as long as the candidate is slightly better than Trump. That's enough for him. Bernie Sanders supporters are his favourite people to attack.

Though i am myself not into trying to be offensive, but usually from what i get they tend to do it because if they dont it will 'cause bigots or something.
