I don't see much of blessed Mother Teresa Ugly old cunt in sandals around these parts, mebbie she's up next. I mean, to vanish so much money so quickly takes either a flame thrower or a fucking miracle.

Or the Vatican bank.

Mother Teresa did not believe in god, she wanted to, but couldn't. How do I know? Mother Teresa documented her non -belief.

Quote:I call, I cling, I want ... and there is no One to answer ... no One on Whom I can cling ... no, No One. Alone ... Where is my Faith ... even deep down right in there is nothing, but emptiness & darkness ... My God ... how painful is this unknown pain ... I have no Faith ... I dare not utter the words & thoughts that crowd in my heart ... & make me suffer untold agony.

So many unanswered questions live within me afraid to uncover them ... because of the blasphemy ... If there be God ... please forgive me ... When I try to raise my thoughts to Heaven there is such convicting emptiness that those very thoughts return like sharp knives  & hurt my very soul. I am told God loves me ... and yet the reality of darkness & coldness & emptiness is so great that nothing touches my soul.

You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.

Amazing looking back at this discussion at the double standards followed by the atheists. "Atheist forums: where double standards are THE standard!!"

Thousands of testimonials from a group of people are declared unreliable. Yet if an atheist thinks he has heard a rumor that someone at Fatima DIDN'T see something, suddenly that one testimonial has all the value in the world! You think people don't see this double standard? It's also interesting how not a single person in this discussion supported their argument that there were people at Fatima who didn't see anything. Now we all know why that is now don't we ???? Because the testimonials say the opposite. But then testimonials are no good, so you are back to square one. You are living a lie people.

Another atheist double standard: they don't trust testimonials or anything written that they don't personally find appealing, yet continuously throughout this conversation they pull up random quotes from random websites and post them with complete trust without even looking into the sources that were used to create those websites. Then they say, "SEE!, there's the proof!". You people are nothing but hypocrites and everyone sees it.

And most amazing of all, you have to love all the vulgarities and insults that appear post to post - they so eloquently flow out of your mouths and make your posts SO much more convincing. Not. Do you have ANY idea how much this makes you look like imbeciles and destroys your credibility? A simple example: if I ask a teenage kid, "what's 8x9?", and he immediately responds back with, "Get the #$%^ out of here you &($#", what would that immediately tell you? It would immediately tell you that he doesnt know the answer and that he is embarrassed that you put him on the spot, otherwise he would've just given the answer. 98% of the posts in this asylum are the same way - full of vulgarities and insults right out of the gate because you guys have no solid answers. You make up answers on-the-fly and just throw them out there and they are batted down immediately. Pretty ridiculous.

I always used to wonder why atheists are always so angry and bitter, but now it's more obvious to me. You guys are constantly fighting your consciences when facts are pointed out to you. It's a never-ending internal struggle that can never lead to happiness. Then you spend much of your life in dark dungeons like this place, and even if you have some good questions in mind, you are fueled by peer pressure to squash them and instead type vulgarities and insults in their place. You stay on the couch and don't even look into things except through random websites that you don't even confirm the authenticity of. You'll notice people who have religion in their lives are HAPPY. It's not normal to be walking around bitter and angry 24/7 - Time to wake up guys.

Yeah? Well, we're not the ones with the invisible imaginary friends.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Quote:It appears to me you are just making excuses for not looking into this phenomena.

Nope pointing out the fact that by your own standard of evidence (eyewitnesses who looked at the sun  ) we have more . We have explained the event as best as is reasonable. It's you who does not want to look because it would rightly lead to doubt.

Why don't you pray for all of us to be struck dead in one hand and then shit in the other and see which fills up first?

How many times do you have to be told that your fantasies are merely fantasies?

There is a long history of this with the fucking church.  Stupid shits will believe anything.

For example, in Bart Ehrman's Forged he recounts the "Handing Over of Pilate" which purports to be the fate of Pilate when he returns to Rome and finds that Tiberius and the senate are all "xtians."

Quote:Pilate repeats that Jesus’s works showed that he was “greater
than all the gods” that they worshiped. But he executed him “because
of the anarchy and rebelliousness of the lawless and godless
Jews.” Caesar and the senate take a vote and decide to destroy
the nation of the Jews. They then send in the armies, who
destroy the nation and take all the Jewish survivors to sell off as
slaves. Pilate himself is condemned to death for his part in the
affair.
Before he dies, however, Pilate prays to God and pleads his
innocence, once again saying that Jesus’s death was because of
the “nation of godless Jews.” When he finishes his prayer, a voice
comes from heaven—the voice of Christ himself—assuring Pilate
of his salvation: “All the races and families of the Gentiles will
bless you, because under your rule everything spoken about me
by the prophets was fulfilled. You yourself will appear as my witness
at my second coming.” When the executioner chops off Pilate’s
head, an angel swoops down and takes it, presumably to
carry it up to heaven.

BTW, Tiberius' armies never moved against "the Jews" who were, at the time a Roman prefecture.  But history is malleable for xristard shitwits as we know all too well.

Ehrman concludes:

Quote:That is to say, a number of Christian authors
chose to tell the truth about the divine Christ and about his
wicked enemies, the Jews, by forging documents, claiming to be
people they weren’t. Christian readers of these documents accepted
them at face value as real reports from the time, instead of
what they were, forgeries from later periods. The authors intended
to deceive their readers, and their readers were all too easily
deceived.

And some things never fucking change.
