Fucking right you're wrong, and for more than one reason. First of all, free speech matters. Even if they are 100% pure evil, which is never true IMO, you want that evil out in the open where you can see it and attempt to remedy it. You don't want to marginalize dangerous people and wait for the bombs to start exploding.
And who says that white supremacists are intrinsically violent? Who says their ideology is violent? If they are violent, then this is a super-simple case: get video of them committing violence, then send the police round with warrants for their arrest.
These are American citizens. Either each individual was acting lawfully, or he wasn't. If he wasn't, he should be arrested. If he was, then his freedom of speech and protest should be protected. My understanding is that these people were upset about the removal of an icon, and they were there to protest against its removal. I also understand that they were dressed up in their Wonder Woman outfits or whatever and carrying citronella torches. What I don't know is what they said or did beyond that.

See there not doing anything violent or breaking the law so make no effort to stop the hate group .

That's right, now you've got it. Just like we can't close mosques because some crazy fuck put a bomb in his underwear. You don't get to generalize an entire group, unless you can demonstrate that the express purpose of the group is criminal.
When you for the sake of convenience suspend the need for due process and assumed innocence, then you have become the thing you should most hate.

I would be nice to have the luxury of ignoring the sickos, but the problem for the past 8 years but especially since Trump took the mask of the GOP dog whistle talk, we are now dealing with sickos whom feel politically emboldened.
You wouldn't call a Muslim terrorist slamming a car into pedestrians stupid, you would call them rightfully terrorists. A defenseless protester died because someone sick fucks sold that sick fuck the idea his "whiteness" was an endangered species.
Calling white nationalists stupid is a mistake. You can be stupid, and motivated and dangerous at the same time.
One asshole who was part of that rally afterwards was asked if he was sorry she died, he said no. That sick fuck is as bad as ISIS to me. Heather Heyer was UNARMED and protesting peacefully against the bullshit idea that there is a master race. Trump would claim his rhetoric was not responsible. I say he was, because he was not a no name he was throwing red meat to the far right and using political office to do it. If you go to White Nationalist websites such as the KKK or Neo Nazis or even individuals whom support that, you will find 99% support Trump.
When you show up with weapons of war you are not simply advocating free speech, your intent is to show dominance no different than ISIS.
It's not as much a luxury to ignor them as it is a choice. I would actually argue a wiser choice.
Arguing them is never going to change their mind, so protesting is a total waist of time and effort. Actually creates the head shaking of many people looking at both sides. I'm married to a black woman. I tend to have black family members around the house. It's not uncommon for them to watch the news and see a screen full of white people fighting over racism and here "what the fuck is wrong with those people". And they aren't referring to the racist degenerates.
I'd actually much rather flipping on the news and hear "Welcome to channel 59 news. In news today; there was a KKK rally in Indianapolis today. No one gave a shit. In other news....".
The argument builds their platform. It doesn't hurt it at all. Why argue a message that no one even listens to?
Trump is president. How can you think people aren't listening to the message of white supremacy? They're barreling toward it with more hubris then they've had in a long while.

Does it matter if the message is explicit or implicit?

He's actually said quite the opposite

He said those opposing white supremacy is as bad as those who advocate it.
Saying those who oppose murder is as bad as those who murder does not seem to imply the speaker believe in the sanctity of life.
If one does not believe in equality, and one is white, and known for holding an opinion of himself that is only mildly higher than of one to whom god himself might pray, it might be conclude with a modest 1000000% certainty he believes the supremacy of at least one white.

I think that the real problem is that when the public mentions that the KKK approves of the Chump, and he doesn't dis them, and in fact, if you see where David Duke reminded him about "who got him elected", recently, it's pretty obvious. His grandpa was in the KKK, FFS. That is a documented fact. Are you playing devil's advocate, here?
