Did Charlottesvilel mean anything?
RE: Did Charlottesvilel mean anything?
I didn't see any of those people holding up Republican party symbols. I do recall one of them saying he hated Trump because he gave his beautiful white daughter to a Jew.

You can't just declare people like this Republicans without some non-circular evidence.

That neither happened at Charlotteville, nor was Richard Spencer there, nor did I see any Trump signs. There is no reason other than personal bias to associate the Charlottesville Nazis as Republicans.

Sort of reminds me of that Portland train stabbing where people just assumed that guy was a trump supporter but it turned out not to be the case.

Yeah, this is my issue as well. When you use the word "they" to talk about a group of individuals, you really need to establish that the behavior is typical of most or at least of the average individual in that group. To say "They were carrying tiki torches" is fair enough in that sense. To say, "They killed someone that day!" is not.

I don't give a fuck if they were Republicans, Democrats, or Martians. They were marching under a flag that stands for genocide. Dance around that all you want. I have and will stand up for their right to march publically under a flag which is so odious. But that doesn't mean that I"m a) pawning their behavior off to conservatives in general or b) trying to deprive them of the right to free speech.

All it means is that if you foist your opinions on the public, you should expect that people may not agree with you.

I welcome their marches. I want the public to understand that they exist and aren't just phantasms of snowflake imaginations. They are real and they need to be countered. Let them march and announce themselves, and let the chips fall where they may. I bet the American public will mostly refuse their agitprop.

Or the psycho who shot up a bunch of people at a gay night club and turned out being a registered democrat.

That some people still blamed conservative Christianity for a heinous crime committed by a Muslim Democrat was a bit ridiculous.

Well said
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

People have come to expect conservative christianity to be involved in doing nasty shit to gays....for some reason.

I'm sure it's all just a giant misunderstanding.   Rolleyes

I'd say not all X-tians are homophobes, but if you meet a homophobe-- ask him what church he attends.
