Let's Talk About Books

RE: Let's Talk About Books
Fiction bores me now. I blame college. Now I feel like everything I read needs to have a purpose; by that, I mean it should expand my knowledge about a particular subject or field of interest.

But my favorite fiction novel is Ragtime by EL Doctorow

Audiobooks while you play videogames . . . Ok.  Confirmation.  You're about 10x smarter than I am.     Worship

Only because I thought of it first. Wink

I have no preference. I enjoy both fiction and non-fiction. I tend not to review non-fiction unless I think reviews would be helpful. I’ll give them star ratings on GoodReads though. It’s easy to do that with my Kindle.

Minimalist, after Drumpf's tirade on Twitter this morning about "Sloppy Steve," I'm so buying this book. He said Bannon was leaking. Well, if it's not true, how's it a leak? I'm going to approach with some skepticism, though.

Haha, I don't know why I went full Minimalist. True story, my sister's name is Melinda. They call her Mindy. I've been calling her Min and Minge most of our lives. I always think of my sister when I talk to you.

Back on topic, yeah. Tibs and I talked about buying the book last night. I hesitated, thinking we could get it cheaper later or just get the highlights from the Internet. Then, I did my usual morning scowl at Trump on Twitter and realized that I definitely have to read this book. I know it's going to get me fired up, but it's worth it.

Sure like what I've been reading about it.

I usually write a quick review of stuff I read for my blog http://crackedspine.blogspot.com/ In the course of giving it a makeover during the Snowpocalypse we're suffering here, I thought I'd share it here in case anyone wants to talk about some of the books I've read, books they've read, books they want to read or even books they'd like to see me review.

I'm currently re-reading IT by Stephen King, reading several books of poetry, a novel about Christmas emergencies by a local fireman and Sleeping Beauties by Stephen and Owen King.

I'm reading "bad science" by Ben Goldacre.

I just finished reading Jennifer Egan's, A Visit From The Goon Squad. Now I want to read it again. So much going on that I'm sure there are a kazillion connections I've missed.

I got to read a lot of books this year but I haven't been writing them down and my recall isn't all that good unless something calls one to mind. Before this last book I read Adiche's Americanah. Around the time of the Eclipse I read A Bastard Out of Carolina, since we went to SC to view it. In between I read A Lesson Before Dying and just before this last one I gave up reading Gilead. What a bore!

Aloha Shell B:

I think your cute and I don't care what Tiberius says about that!

Anyway, I am an author of a book. It is a radical book! As it pits Theology vs. Word in just about every biblical subject. It is non-fiction but, many here would argue against that Smile

It trashes theology while showing the treasure of what is written in the autographed language. Obviously, I can't talk to theists about it and it's difficult to talk about with atheists.

I have sold dozens of copies and only one return. The people who have read it say to me it is an awesome book. And that it is a life changer and life charger. Of course, they are theists. One was a former atheist turned theist before I wrote the book who says he has read it now 4 times.

It took decades to prepare and 4yrs to write working night and day. It is 480 Kindle pages condensed down from more then a thousand!

It is currently being reedited getting prepared for print. There is a company that wants to promote in with a 45 minute interview with me and throw it out onto the social media. I am dreading this. Who needs the infamy? It is going to be retitled "The Power of the Universe".

If you care to peek at it:

My girlfriend thinks I'm a stalker. Well...she's not my girlfriend "yet".

I discovered a new vitamin that fights cancer. I call it ...B9

I also invented a diet pill. It works great but had to quit taking it because of the side effects. Turns out my penis is larger and my hair grew back. And whoa! If you think my hair is nice!

When does size truly matter? When it's TOO big!

I'm currently working on a new pill I call "Destenze". However...now my shoes don't fit.
