A scaled replica is not going to work, when the problem is the actual boat would be too large and heavy for wood to support. You can't build a boat to the specifications listed in the bible, put it in the ocean, and expect it to last a month in open water.

GC, no one who lack the cognative power equal to recognizing that Christianity is bullshit have the cognative power to really understand what science is. So the first thing to do if you wish to understand science is to throw away what Christian apologists tell you are the sciency they did to justify the foundational myths of Christianity.

The most comprehensive test of this (of which I'm aware) was a Smithsonian article from a few years ago.  A group of physics students built a scale model and worked out that the Ark as described could be loaded with animals and would float, but that's about all it would do, and not for very long.  The length of the beams required would make them extremely fragile, and they would shear under their own weight within a few hours (you could get round that by using smaller beams spliced together, but that would drastically increase the likelihood of leaks).  Even if the Ark did manage to stay afloat, the weight of the barge + cargo would put the upper deck of the Ark less than a metre above the waterline, so that even a modest wave would flood the deck and capsize the boat.

I think a fair test would be to build a child's boat out of cardboard, set it in a wading pool, and turn a firehose on it.

As the yearly "we found Noahs ark" stories emerge once more, it strikes me that even find a big boat up a mountain would not be proof of the flood.

You would have to prove that religious nuts did not build one up there. Look at all the Ark "replicas" around the world now and its been a story, for what, 5000 years, plenty of time for some motivated idiot to build one up a hill.
