Because we know nothing will come of it.  It's another senseless tragedy in a long line of senseless tragedies.  That makes it fundamentally less interesting than tits.  That;s not a problem with the public..that's the public accurately reading the situation.

If we gave complete control over to the "gun control advocates" in our government they'd do a whole lot of nothing. It shouldn't surprise anyone that their plans fail..they're designed too..because while gun control advocates don't take contributions from the nra..they do take contributions from the private equity firms that manage gun manufacturers as an asset. Remmy went belly up only after being abandoned by it's managing firm for bad PR. So theres a place to put our frustration if we have to aim it at a business. Don't beat the dog, strangle it's owner. Truth is gun manufacturing in this country could be made to collapse without ever passing a law or filing a lawsuit.

This issue has happened so many times now. At this point it would be best for the parents to teach their kids the warning signs of a teen/adult shooter.

I mean we all know that the UK doesn't have this same problem. Or Australia. Gee, I wonder what the difference is. Both also have video games, and television, and hollywood. They didn’t have that kind of a problem before either. Also the banning of guns doesn’t seem to effect murder rates by very much.

You don’t compare one country to the other, but look at the difference before and after for those who have banned firearms. I live in an area where there are quite a few firearms. And there is very little issue.

Actually in America our current President will remain silent on the issue.  Republicans will tell us "Now is not the time for talking about gun control!  Don't politicize a tragedy!"  Then, the next time an illegal immigrant kills a single person, they'll immediately politicize that tragedy by calling for a ban on immigrants.

So in short we've went backwards.  We don't even get the heartfelt talks anymore.  Until it actually effects the people in their ivory towers, nothing will be done.

Fuck rawstory and fuck Kimmel. Arguing gun control doesn't answer the underlying question as to why anyone would even act out to commit murder. There's a culture of violence in this country that's been partially created by Hollywood and the gaming industry among other influences. There's been a deterioration of morals and self discipline among the youth with no fear of consequences. Like minded Jack Asses like you with your Fucking Cops threads and your radical disdain for lawful order only works to encourage a continued culture of violence here.

You seem to forget that there was an abundance of violence in this country long before Hollywood and video games and other influences.

They should have tried living in the 18th & 19th Centuries.  Then they would have known what real violence is.

I don’t own a gun (I may have a hunting rifle; though I’m unsure if it was mine, and I haven’t seen it for over 20years)...

This one has a picture of the killer on the ground in cuffs.  Half of his face is in shadow but it's a clear picture.

This issue has happened so many times now. At this point it would be best for the parents to teach their kids the warning signs of a teen/adult shooter.

We tried that in the wake of Columbine. The profiles turned out to be off-base, and were often used as an excuse to victimise other children. It turned out the closest thing to a common thread in school shooters is they tended to tell someone about it beforehand.

And here's my personal experience: when Columbine happened, I was in the third grade, and it would never have occurred to me to shoot up a school. Then people started profiling, and, as the bullying that seemed to be natural to someone on the autism spectrum with emotional problems escalated, the students (and in at least one case, a teacher) used the "potential school shooter" idea as an excuse to escalate the bullying. By the time I graduated grade school, I wound up regretting not going all Dogville on my school. Fortunately, the most lethal gun I have ever touched only shoots floppy plastic suction darts (and very poorly, I may add). In High School (otherwise a comparatively tranquil place), there were actually two campaigns to frame me as a potential school shooter, once through a whisper campaign that led to me having to meet with the dean of students multiple times until Homecoming came and went and nothing happened, and another time, there was a plan to start up a Facebook page in my name and post messages claiming I was going to shoot up the school, but this time I thwarted it by making my own Facebook page before they could do it.

TL;DR: If you give a kid a profile, he's going to want to use it an excuse to fuck with some other kid he doesn't like. And it's not like there's actually that much in the way of warning signs to begin with.
