What's being asked for here is a completely different thing than that, IMO, in that it is likely to produce an abundance of reports, and therefore staff work where we are already often overtaxed.

I'm against it. We have a perfectly good debate section. The fact that people do not take advantage of it is not a problem with the structure of AF.
Debate threads are invitation only and participants can set their own rules. There is no reason that someone cannot put up a "Call to Debate: (topic)" in the appropriate forum to solicit participants the way Mafia Games are organized.

Give the people advocating for it Mod duties in the new sub forum. That'll teach em for requesting new features.

Cool, thanks for the consideration. I think it would be a good, and positive addition to AF.

Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Ok...I’m sorry. I am off my rocker here lol. What we voted on was completely different than this. Sorry!
We can discuss this, but if it’s a debate forum you want I’m against it. We already have a debate forum.
Sorry again. I totally misread the OP

No problem. And no, what im suggesting here is not a debate forum. I specified as much on the OP.

A section titled serious topics is kind of vague.

That's what I gather... a normal forum section where the rules impose civility, friendliness, etc... much like the intro section.
That would have the benefit of believers feeling better, as the evil atheists wouldn't jump to insults.

Yes, this is exactly what I'm talking about Poca.

As someone who doesn't mind a conversation with a believer, it'd be nice to try it without the piles of monkey shit that some of the regulars start hucking any time they see particular poster made a comment on something.

This thread is a good example of why it'd be nice.
