Hey, don't eat all the popcorn!
The xtians need a few handfuls to throw at each other over points of doctrine and the validity of various translations!

I'll participate, though not sure what i would have to add that I've not already said in many different threads. I'm really busy right now and wouldn't be able to participate every day but would as often as possible. I'm thinking this might just open up new thoughts on why we stay, seems good to me.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Secondly I'd like to point out that there's going to be a vast disconnect between Wooter's conception of his role here and his actilual role, vis Wooters "my role is to prove how stupid and misguided atheists are through my superior intellect and Thomas Aquinas". The rest of us "superior intellect? Ha! Your role is butt-monkey".
Why not wait for what he actually says rather than making something up in your head and criticising a strawman?
I've spent a couple of years reading what the says, trust me it doesn't change. He a condescsending, arrogant, little scut with severe authoritarian tendencies who has an unfortunate habit of assuming that something is right as soon as he says it. And he's got a huge crush on Thomas Aquinas for some strange reason.
Of course, you know all this being Wooters' biggest cheerleader.

I can't get my head around what sort of discussions will be fruitful.
Philosophy? sure
Lifestyle? sure
Non religion sure?
God itself? Other than politely agreeing to disagree, it will quickly just become a fallacyfest.
For one simple reason. If theists knew they were making logical fallacies, they wouldn't make them.
If they do know, then they're having a dishonest conversation to begin with...
No win situation for both sides...
The majority here aree not trying to convince each other of anything. Atheists don't have an agenda to uphold.
We are just guided by science. All theistic arguments are basically arguing about the validity of science. (god/gaps)

...A Theist commented but I'm not sure if he means he wants to participate.
...And Alpha, are you sure you don't want to give it a try?
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
