Matt Groening’s new series: Disenchantment

Matt Groenig certainly has the capacity to be funny. It just seems that later Simpsons and Futurama devolved to milking premises that just didn't have it in them.
Nonetheless, I will look forward to the new series. Hope springs eternal. (May 23, 2018 at 6:12 pm)Kit Wrote: Well, Futurama did end at season seven, and The Simpsons is still going strong. I think that says it all. I don’t think it does. Futurama kept getting cancelled by the network and brought back, many times. It has a loyal fan base. It’s not as popular as the Simpsons but the Simpsons was a groundbreaking cartoon, and had several years on Futurama already. I outgrew the Simpsons, the jokes are aimed at kids, which is fine. Futurama always seemed more mature, plus it has almost limitless storylines due to it being set in the future. Some of the Simpsons stories fall terribly flat.
When it comes to the mature oriented cartoons, I'm more of an American Dad fan.
I definitely love American Dad as well. I guess the other thing about Futurama I loved was it wasn’t a dysfunctional family.
My favorite line from the Simpsons is Bart at church watching Stryper perform. The original and lamest of Christian rock bands. Bart turns to the preacher and says : "All the best music is affiliated with Satan!".
I like this new trend where the entire season is released at once. I am sure my family will binge watch this new series if the first episode grabs our attention.
God thinks it's fun to confuse primates. Larsen's God!
My favorite line from Futurama was when they were at a horse race and the announcer says “it’s going to be a quantum finish”, and they check the finish photo to determine which horse won. The professor’s horse loses and he shouts “No fair, you changed the outcome by measuring it!”
Wasn't a Groening product, but I really enjoyed Ugly Americans.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
