Possible girlfriend??
July 25, 2018 at 11:36 am
I have met this cute girl. Had a good time with her but found out she is a deeply religious, she actually thinks the Earth is young. I decided not to talk more about it, but I was really shocked. Should I see her again or just dump her? As an Atheist I don't see how we could ever get along and I doubt I could ever convince her to jump ship.

Nobody can tell you what to do ultimately. I would say however, long term, if it became serious and you got married, and had kids, you'd have to go into that knowing the ground rules and agreeing to them.
Even outside the issue of religion, not discussing long term plans when you get serious can cause problems. As much as I loved my x wife, the truth is we never should have gotten married. She had a completely different view of what she wanted for the future. I do consider myself lucky in that we never had kids. She is back in Japan, and that would have been really hard on both of us.
Nothing wrong with love, or even diversity in a relationship, but you DO have to be pragmatic in considering the long term implications. Don't confuse hormones for love. Merely finding someone attractive isn't enough.

I have a catholic republican wife. I'd kick her ass to the curb if one of those traits changed.

I'd be careful with anyone who is deeply religious, conflicts of ideology will be a major potential issue in your relationship. Unless your willing compromise your ethics for the sake of companionship. Don't let things get serious though till your sure, I would shop around a bit more to see if someone who is more aligned with your standards of ethics. A woman who believes in Buddhism would be the closet you can get to an Atheist in my opinion.

Smoke 'em if you got 'em. As a rule, people are notoriously bad at predicting the final result in human affairs.

Just go with it and see how it evolves.
You may be pleasantly surprised.

Nope i love her and i don't believe in trying to change my partners .We have been together 7 years so her mystic quirks are just background noise at this point .We know what each other thinks and are comfortable letting it be . And it's not like any of her beliefs have manifested in a deadly or harmful way .
