Prayers don't work so why do religious keep jabbing at it?

RE: Prayers don't work so why do religious keep jabbing at it?
You have hurricane prevention powers, and you’re not sitting on a post off the beach saving lives all day?

Kind of a useless dick, in that case, huh.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Well, there is something we should know: Allah -God- is a creator. He is not my maid or servant, or Jinni that I summon to answer my wishes. Thinking about God like that is disastrous, We call him and he responds if he wanted

We need him; not the opposite. When we pray, he listens and answers the way he sees fit, or not answer at all; but he listens. I don't know if he is going to accept my prayers or not; I also don't know if he is going to accept somebody else's.

But prayer do work. Lots of Muslims -and even Christians and Jews who prayed to God- can tell you in full honesty that prayer works. That's why the world is so full of theists

When you pray for something to happen and it does, how do you know it wouldn't have happened had you not prayed for it?

The subject of the prayer lets me know. Some matters look impossible to happen but after praying for them to happen specifically; they come to be. Like a needle in a pile of grass.

For example, praying to be great at a work you do -that you aren't at all skilled at-, but suddenly after praying you find that the subject of the prayer came to be.

Sure, just like all of the babies in the world....I can’t think of anything other than prayer magic that explains that.

Not really my question.  I'll try to rephrase it.

Suppose someone prays to become great at work.  Suppose that, after praying, they DO become great at work.  All well and good.  But how can you know that they wouldn't have become great at work without praying to be so?

In a larger sense, anything that appears to happen based on prayer might have come about without prayer.  How do you tell the difference?

Ok first, nature is alive and well and I do not stand in her way. She is a seeker of all things harmonious. She loves and she can hate! She is complex but not complicated. But, as it might effect me: fuck that shit! I had to pray Lane out of my face as well. I'm gonna bitch to the highest heaven! Truth: I lived in South FL for 7yrs and DID NOT own an umbrella and NEVER got rained on because I would NOT allow it! Effective prayer is knowing you are the son of God and wielding that power! Christianity couldn't understand effective pray even to save their own life!

Side note: I once told a tree NOT to move and that tree has not even budged to date! Yeah bitch, I got power!
My girlfriend thinks I'm a stalker. Well...she's not my girlfriend "yet".

I discovered a new vitamin that fights cancer. I call it ...B9

I also invented a diet pill. It works great but had to quit taking it because of the side effects. Turns out my penis is larger and my hair grew back. And whoa! If you think my hair is nice!

When does size truly matter? When it's TOO big!

I'm currently working on a new pill I call "Destenze". However...now my shoes don't fit.

That's reasonable.  I lived in Northern Ireland for almost 40 years and was never once trampled during the annual wildebeest migration.

Prayers are like astrology.

If it “works” for one in ten thousand it will still be touted by the supporters as being miraculous.

You could've prayed to a rock, and the effect would've been the same. There was a saying in Arabic I used to hear a lot from my late grandmother that says:

Aamen bil 7ajar, toushfa

Believe in rocks, you will be cured.

That was a different Matthew. I was in South FL for 7yrs and no hurricanes hit Florida on my watch. As soon as I left...

A different Matthew? How so?
