Sure, it's anecdotal, but it tracks with broader data. No one expects a gun show to turn into a shootout. Just like no one expects a sharp uptick in gun violence or gun death in rural communities, even though the vast majority of guns are in them.
The trouble, is that this is not a sane comment on why politicians are all heated up about gun control..or why there was a gun ban put in place in the story.

They won't listen.
They banned 50 caliber guns in California despite the fact that one had NEVER been used illegally.
They just want to get rid of all guns.
They will - through incrementalism.
I plan on being dead for years before it happens.

-and those people will succeed at getting rid of all guns as long as you and others like you volunteer to dismiss yourselves as credible voices with the kind of shit you post.
You might plan on being dead, I don't. I'd rather not be a criminal by default on account of you and yours being committed to pigheaded bullshit, lol

According to the article, the three proposed laws are universal background checks, banning military-style rifles, and temporarily removing guns from the possession of people determined to be a danger to themselves or others.
If you’re law abiding, you won’t have any trouble passing a background check.
If you’re law abiding, why do you need a military type weapon (to be fair, the article wasn’t specific about what this would entail)?
If you’re law abiding, how do you reasonably object to taking guns away from someone who posted about shooting up a school?
Boru Your definition of "military type weapon" is way too loose for any gun owner.
My AR-15 took 6 deer this season. It's design allows even my 110 lbs sister to comfortably fire it.
Let's go through your posessions - and we will see how much you "need" those...
.....
Snd I see you didn't address the OP...
You just trotted out some kids.....
And ones that haf nothing to do with this rally...
Boru’s post had everything to do with the OP. The point is the rally is stupid and unnecessary in the first place. As far as your “experiment” goes, one question is: can it be repeated? What if we repeated this experiment twelve times, and nine out of the twelve times a person from the “gun” group shot someone? Data of that nature paints a completely different picture, doesn’t it? You haven’t proved anything, and your grasp on how researchers collect and analyze data is rather tenuous if you think it does.

Sure, OLB, I think it was a sane response. They didn't want a repeat of charlottesville, with guns. Again with max cynicism...risking being pilloried through inaction would be the unhinged response.
Here again we have an example of nutters driving discourse and action.
