If there wasn't new evidence there shouldn't have been an appeal, case dismissed.
That of course would require recalling him to prison.

That's not how it works in Australia. 
The appeal was granted on the grounds that the jury's decision was unreasonable

The charges Pell was acquitted of were supposed to have happened in the 90s after Ballarat

I think people are dirty from when he was the leader in Ballarat when all those pedophile cases came out
