Yes Biker, it's very fair to use the term cops, plural, when addressing years of institutional racism.
Even if we limited ourselves to just this one incident, it appears that there were a few cops standing around who could have done some serving and protecting. They didn't.

The cop, Chauvin, has been charged with 3rd degree murder. There's absolutely no excuse for what he did and, frankly, I think the other officers should be charged with something for standing by and not doing anything.
From my understanding the cops opened fire on the peaceful protesters with tear gas and rubber bullets, perhaps precipitating the riots.
Just to be clear, as far as I'm concerned, there is no excuse for rioting or looting and those involved deserve to have the book thrown at them, preferably wrapped around a brick.
