Odd that white people will find an example of police brutality against a white person to somehow argue against the protests against police brutality. Very logical.

I doubt (or enjoy doubting) that this was Editz contention. I say this, but I've played this game many times before and it rarely ends well.
It's certainly not the contention of the white supremacists who, as Steve Bannon put it, flooded the zone with shit. They would prefer that the subject takeaway be that there very much is racism in this world, against the poor downtrodden whites. I'd screengrab the ledes from the first 10 pages of hits to drive this one home, but, honestly...it's exactly what you would expect. I've been ringing the bells about this shit for years. It's alienated people who I liked very much, who couldn't divorce their own racial and intellectual insecurities from my comments about efforts to harm and propagandize them. I worry that they've found the winning message. Mostly, because it definitely works and spreads itself with an ease that traditional white supremacist propaganda never managed to achieve in the post civil rights era, but even more because it seems to compel people to isolate themselves whenever it's pointed out - leaving those subjects away and apart from their well intentioned and caring peers with nothing but the white supremacists to flood their brains with further shit. Modern liberalism as a philosophy has it's defining characteristics as a concern for others and disdain for harmful social or political orders. This is precisely what white supremacists are appealing to, today. People imagine that so long as they can resist the message that whites are superior to blacks then they've won the fight, but that's not even the field of play anymore. It's that whites have it as bad or even worse than blacks...that this fictional race has become a victim of a harmful social or political order...and no one cares.

To whom? I don't find myself feeling divided or excluded.
It's certainly not the case that no one piped up about the death of Timpa, or even that the black community couldn't or didn't then (and now) point to Timpa as why we should have all, always, been concerned about police brutality. They care, and cared about Timpa. The people of Dallas cared about Timpa. Timpa had a family who cared about Timpa. I care about Timpa. You care about Timpa. The people that you're posting to on these boards aren't exactly likely to exclaim "fuck that white asshole!". There's only one group of people truly missing from the list of those which do or would or might care about Timpa, and that same group of people are the ones making so much noise about Timpa....now. That same group of people have been very successful at shifting narratives and dividing people with their messaging. It's right there in front of your face, and all you have to do is look at it. You are already staring in it's direction, obviously, but not clearly. It would take so little and mean so much to so many. I've noticed that the frequency of these posts from you is ramping up. I'm concerned. Have you considered that you might have gone beyond the point of a consuming subject to an active disseminator?

The reason black lives are emphasised is that they are disproportionately the victims of police violence.

In the end, the brutality that the police have largely aimed at disadvantaged communities and people can only be practice. They know they can get away with it. There's no significant difference between how the police view the rest of us and how they view those communities and those people, beyond that.
We shouldn't be surprised to find that their brutality expands it's horizons, nor should we be surprised when, as they expand those horizons, there is little to no outcry. We've already been conditioned to silence, it's just a matter of spreading out that blanket of hate and apathy. They'll get to us, in earnest, soon enough - but when that victim ideology finds itself to be true..it will be too late, and it will be the proponents of it who...then... cheer it on.

Also actually read my post in your other thread and maybe you'll see why? White fragility is hilarious
There's a particularly telling statistic: there's no significant difference between rates of illegal drug use between blacks and whites, but blacks are about 50% of the population incarcerated for drugs while only representing 12% of the general population. I wonder how they could get the impression that to the justice system, white lives matter more than theirs?
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.
I've shamed and intimidated cops out of giving me a speeding ticket while transporting substantial amounts of weed. It's not like they couldn't smell it.
Anyone who denies this inequity and privilege is missing out on lucrative opportunities for profit in the movement of illicit drugs.
