So you are trying to work both sides of the street.
You''re either anti gun trying to look like you're not or you are trying to look anti when you're not.
If not - what's your point?

I'm not anti-gun, I'm anti-irresponsibility (this is off topic, but it seems to be the way the thread is going). Since there are going to be guns, I want them to be in the hands of careful, responsible people. People like you, for instance. I don't object to
you owning guns, because
you aren't the problem. I would like to see firearms kept out of the hands of domestic abusers, habitual drug users, people with a violent criminal history, people diagnosed with emotional or mental issues, etc.
In short, I'd like gun ownership to be more restrictive. I don't want personal firearms banned, I want them in the hands of people - like you - who can be trusted to know when to use or not use them.
Would that make for a perfect world, in respect to guns? Of course not. But it would be better than what you have now.

Thank you.
Now - here's the rub of "sensible gun control" -
It always targets the people who are not the problem.
As you have noted - responsible people are not the problem. They don't go about (for the most part) waving guns and acting like idiots.
Morons and criminals do that - and we don't want them owning or possessing guns.
But - inevitably - any gun legislation that gets passed - waiting periods, background checks, limits on types of firearms, numbers of firearms, types of ammo - ect ----- only affect those people who are willing to do things legally. Criminals or morons just steal a gun, or buy one illegally. A legal M16 will cost upwards of $15,000. An illegal one will go for a thousand or two.
So what to do?
How about changing the way we do "gun control"? Quit doing what doesn't work.
Register the morons and criminals - not the guns.
Make morons and criminals have a "no guns" logo on their identification - and require all guns sales to show ID. (AND failure to comply a felony) Make it a felony to buy or illegally sell guns and put those that do it in a deep dark hole for a long, long time.

Ironically, the ones who don't needs guns are the ones who do the mass shootings upon first obtaining access to guns.

Spare me the diatribe.
Mass shootings happen because people are mentally ill, yet no accurate vetting is done to limit access to guns.
We need less apologetics and more reason in gun control.
