Clearly, I have…and none of this takes years of rigorous work. It’s not a riddle wrapped in a conundrum wrapped in a mystery. Magic book expresses the opinions of slavery of a culture that was engaged in slavery. They are predictable opinions for a slaving culture.
American slavers also didn’t believe that it would be proper to enslave them. It’s a common feature of such cultures. An organizing principle of their societies. Today, we recognize that it was and is wrong, the abrahamic god, then and now….not so much. -to hear the fairy tale told, at any rate. I like to find the humor everywhere- here…it’s the seeming inability for Christians…..to suggest that the Jews may have gotten anything wrong about a god. Isn’t that kind of your entire thing?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Enjoy. I have absolutely no questions for you on the institution of slavery described in magic book, and there’s no debate whatsoever on the reality of those institutions in the culture which produced it. We know they endorsed their own institutions. Do you, today…and do you feel compelled in any way to defend that institution as anything other than what it was?

Perhaps you should take a gander at that link. It spends some time on why people would enter into these arrangements.
Or, as I suggested before, you might avail yourself of the vast body of literature and contemporary testimony as to why people still do. Are you, personally, willing to advocate for biblical slavery? Do you think it was a good system, decreed by a god, your god?

If being a slave was a nothing burger, then the story you cite doesn't make sense. Even if my comments had been baseless, your argument is still a nonsequitur. Additionally, there is plenty of extra-biblical evidence about slavery in ANE. But thanks for showing what a towering intellect you are once again. ![]() |
