Both my and the anti - gun faction do little to stop criminals and bad people from getting illegal source guns.
The anti gun people also keep good people from getting guns. They just make it so inconvenient many decide to forego jumping through the hoops and give up.

I don’t think a significant number of your countrymen are giving up on getting guns.

What' s your problem with locking up the people doing the unjustified shootings and the people who sold them the gun illegally in a deep dark hole and letting them rot there?
I have no problem whatsoever locking up people who shoot people? As you've repeatedly identified, however...neither these laws nor these punishments actually prevent gun crimes. Criminals gonna criminal.
Pricing gun crime demos out of guns, otoh, can. So keep throwing shooters in holes..but, also, reduce the pool of available firearms overwhelmingly represented in trace data. Right? Nobody has to follow any laws for that to work. That works regardless of whether criminals criminal. It doesn't abrogate any rights, and does nothing but benefit law abiding gun owners.

It was implied that was dependant on anti- gun laws being passed. I appoligize if that point was not clearly made...

Well, I'll go ahead and assume that means you can't articulate any particular objection to a fairly simple plan with a well demonstrated relationship to gun crime. Meanwhile, you have articulated a litany of false..and risibly false, claims about the states of gun laws here and there, their hypothetical outcomes, and, ofc, people and governments that craft, uphold, or support them
Do you prefer fantasy based policies, or data driven policies? Is your position on the issue of guns about guns... at all..or, more accurately, about people you dislike?

I think buying something designed to deal death should be inconvenient.

And just to clarify something for Biker: even if a certain gun is better for hunting (for instance) deer than shooting people, it’s still designed to deal death since its sole purpose is still to launch a projectile that punches a hole in something that makes it not be alive anymore. Unless, of course, they’re just shooting at targets, but that’s just a proxy for the real thing.

If they were "good people" then they understand why everyone should follow the same rules.

Doing something illegal because you find the legal route inconvenient is rarely something a "good person" does.

Which calls into serious question how" good " they were.

Very good point. Guns are single-purpose tools - you really can’t do much with them except shoot things.
My car is a tool. My forge is a tool. But I can’t see driving my forge to the market, or using my car to heat and shape metal.

This reminds me of this scene from Taxi Driver. Apparently, you can hammer nails with a 38 all day and it will still shoot bull's eyes.
That said, if IMDb's Goofs page for the film is any indication, Easy Andy makes a lot of errors in his sales pitch, misidentifying several of the guns, and overestimating how much firepower the Magnum 44 has (apparently, it cannot penetrate an engine block at 100 yards), so I wouldn't be surprised if that thing about the 38 hammering nails is just more bullshit. Given that and how hard he tries to throw in a shitton of drugs after selling the guns (not to mention his actor Steven Prince's background), I'm inclined to believe he's more a drug dealer who just happened to need to unload some guns than an arms dealer who didn't know his merchandise.
