In the longer light of history, it's a shame that relations between the us and russia and china have turned out the way they have. Decades of nutballs jockeying for power at the expense of their own nations and countries, always (and always transparently) contended to be in the interests of those countries and their people. Meanwhile, no three nations ever needed each other or were more tied to the hip with each other than we've been in that time. The universe loves irony, I suppose.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. During World War II, Germany was fighting two wars, the "good war" against Stalin and the "bad war" against the Allies.

Sure. A murderous dictator invading another country, and an enemy. Makes the whole thing kindof easy, doesn't it? Hence the terrible irony of the state of russia, and of the russian us relationship, today.

Yes, the nature of the war both sides are prosecuting. Russia is pursuing a war of aggression where acts of genocide are being sanctioned by those at the highest echelons of the armed forces and by Putain himself. Ukraine is fighting a defensive war and, as far as can be seen, is fighting the war to the highest standards of the international laws governing war.

A compromise presents itself. Perhaps we can revisit the eat shit and surrender proposal after we've dumped 180b on ukraine?
