Demi Lovato poster banned for being offensive to Christians



The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) said it had received complaints relating to the "image of Ms Lovato bound up in a bondage-style outfit whilst lying on a mattress shaped like a crucifix".

The singer was "in a position with her legs bound to one side which was reminiscent of Christ on the cross," it added.

Together with title of the album "Holy Fvck", the ASA found the poster was "likely to be viewed as linking sexuality to the sacred symbol of the crucifix and the crucifixion". This was was likely to cause serious offence to Christians, it said.

Ms. Lovato should file a counter-complaint that Christian imagery is offensive to her.

North Carolina couple accused of performing ‘exorcism’ on child, 4, who died

A North Carolina couple are accused of performing an amateur exorcism on their 4-year-old son, who later died.

Joseph Paul “Joe” Wilson, 41, and Jodi Ann Wilson, 38, of Mount Airy, were arrested Jan. 13 on accusations their actions led to the death of their son, Skyler Wilson. They are being held at the Surry County Detention Center under no bond.

The Surry County Sheriff’s Office said deputies received a call Jan. 6 from Child Protective Services about a child who had been admitted to the hospital after having suffered a “medical emergency” the previous day. Skyler died Jan. 9 “from injuries related to the abuse sustained by his parents,” authorities said.

The Christian Right is in a tailspin after the Grammy awards—not because they feel that Beyoncé was robbed of album of the year, but because they think that the event organizers, in conjunction with Pfizer, were trying to summon the antichrist.

“The Grammy’s featured Sam Smith’s demonic performance and was sponsored by Pfizer,” tweeted far-right congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, who routinely peddles conspiracy theories. “American Christians need to get to work.”

Turning Point USA founder and conservative influencer Charlie Kirk went on a multi-part tweet storm, in which he attempted to draw a connection between the satanic themes in Smith and Petra’s performance, and the fact that Pfizerwas among this year’s sponsors of the Grammy’s. Kirk also posted a screenshot of the performance, with the caption “definitely not a spiritual war.”

And The Post Millennial, a right-wing outlet, wrote:” BREAKING: Sam Smith stages SATANIC Grammy performance with strippers, devil horns.”

Right-wing commentator Liz Wheeler also weighed in. “Don’t fight the culture wars, they say,” she wrote on Twitter. “Meanwhile demons are teaching your kids to worship Satan. I could throw up.”

Bible should come with a warning that reads "Don't try this at home"

A pastor in Mozambique has died after trying to fast for 40 days, emulating what Christ is said to have done in the Bible.

Francisco Barajah, founder of the Santa Trindade Evangelical Church, died at a hospital in the city of Beira, where he was evacuated in critical condition.

After 25 days without food or water, he had lost weight to the point where he could not stand up. He was aged 39.

He had been taken to hospital at the insistence of relatives and followers.

Mr Barajah was diagnosed with acute anaemia and failure of his digestive organs.

Germany is bringing laws against Christian barbarism

German family minister takes on anti-abortion activists

Germany's family minister, Lisa Paus, has vowed to introduce legislation to stop anti-abortion activists from blocking access to abortion facilities, she told the Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland (RND) media group on Thursday.

The comments from Paus, a member of the Greens, come as anti-abortion activists planned a "40 days for life" protest campaign in front of counseling centers and medical centers in the 40 days of Lent ahead before Easter.

"Women must have unhindered access to counseling services and facilities that perform abortions," Paus told RND.

She described so-called "vigil" protests as "violations and unacceptable attacks on women's extremely personal decision."

"The German government will counter this with legal measures," the minister said.

The protests, modeled on an international Christian movement from the United States, aim to close down abortion centers through vigils, prayer and fasting.

The action comes as the center-left German coalition government moves forward with its plans to decriminalize abortion — a plan set out at the very beginning of its term.

Currently, abortion is illegal in Germany, but women and their doctors do not face penalties if the pregnancy poses a health risk to the woman or in cases of rape. There is also a loophole under which an abortion may be carried out within the first 12 weeks of pregnancy (14 weeks since the last period) after mandatory counseling.

Three measles cases have been identified in Kentucky and are linked to the large, two week-long revival on the campus of Asbury University, a Christian school in Wilmore. Thousands of people from all over the country and globe attended the religious service – which captured the attention of social media users worldwide as the revival went viral on TikTok. “Anyone who attended the revival on Feb. 18 may have been exposed to measles,” said Dr. Steven Stack, commissioner of the Kentucky Department for Public Health.
