if the sun is so close to the flat earth and the flat earth is so large that the moon day sun look to be at wildly different angles above horizon depending on where you are on that flat earth, then you would think the sun would cast a enormous expanding shadow such that all the outer planets would be dark on the earth passes between the sun and the outer planets.
yet jupiter abs saturn stubbornly refuse to wink out when they earth passes between them and the sun, not an infrequent event, mind you, happens almost one every year.

So the shadow should be rounder if the eclipse occurs midnight, and would be more of a narrow ellipse if the eclipse occurs just after sun set or just before sun rise.
Yet the shape of the shadow is manifestly the same no matter what part of the night the eclipse occurs. Such a shadow can only be cast by a spherical earth.
Flat-Earthers either think lunar eclipse is not caused by the Earth, but some other (perhaps invisible) celestial body, or they think the Moon doesn't really get its light from the Sun.
And you'll never convince them otherwise.

The wall of ice BS is taken from people circumnavigating the Antarctic. Distance travel x speed of ship = ... Nope. Nope. Nope.

Perhaps. But convincing them the Earth is round is simpler.
If they could be convinced that the Earth is shaped more like a ball than like a pancake, they would be. I admire your motives, but I think you’re spinning your wheels on this one.

Maybe something transitional. Convince them it's shaped like a tire, flat and round at the same time.
