There are unconfirmed reports that Russians are using excavators to make the roads leading to Moscow impassible. I'm no battlefield tactician, but this (if true) strikes me as a phenomenally bad idea - the roads leading into Moscow are the same roads leading out of Moscow.

China fought the Japanese for seven years without being defeated. They were fighting a civil war for much of that time.

Exile to Belarus, if the early reports are any indication. And if he keeps opposing Putin from there, then I suspect Novichok might be in the cards.

It also bespeaks the paucity of forces available to have stopped the convoy. The fact Putin had to resort to negotiation through his lackey will not go unnoticed.

Quote:Wagner troops advanced to just 200 kilometers (120 miles) from Moscow, according to Prigozhin. But after the deal was struck, Prigozhin announced that he had decided to retreat to avoid “shedding Russian blood.”

I can't imagine that he's going to keep pestering Putin from Belarus. Prigozhin is a mercenary (you can say 'private military contractor' if you like - most of them do) who re-negotiated his contract. For all his yammering about 'patriotism' and 'not shedding Russian blood', he made a deal. He's going to retire to a palatial dacha on the outskirts of Minsk and live like the fat cat oligarch he's always wanted to be. His troops are going to sign individual contracts with the Russian military (translation: no punishment). I don't know what his safety guarantee is, but I can think he'd enter into this without one.
So - Prigozhin wins, his troops win, Ukraine wins. And the only one left with egg on his face is Putin.
