Not only was it not necessary, it didn't happen.

Nope, wouldn't have had the same impact. But why would anyone need to "die for our sins" in the first place, like how does this even actually work.

Seems like the same question to me.  Could it have worked that way, or is there something specific to the manner of his death that makes it effective.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

That's the key word there Mr. Alumpacus, thinking, something those warriors for jebus are incapable of.

Well, that's a good reason to not allow them to frame my thinking. I don't give a shit why they think what they do when it is so faulty. It follows that I don't care about "mysterious ways" stuff, or any other apologetics. So no, not so "easy".

Your sarcasm is needless, imo. It's not something I've never heard, thanks all the same.

From what/how I understand, it seems that an honest believer would abhor what the catholics/catholic church has done to christianity.

But the above statement could probably be applied to all organized religions in some fashion.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

Between groupthink and blind faith, kids are on the back end of concerns, seems to me.

Question - what makes a thing important?

People who don’t believe in god
- because we say it is. Or, a group of us say it is

People who do believe in god
- because something higher made it so.

How do you know it's from 'higher up' can you prove a god? See how important proving a god is now?

I don't seem to have the mental dilemma you seem to have, let's look at it another way perhaps. What is morality?

Catholics didn't do anything to Christianity. Christians did a fine job ruining their own religion themselves. Catholicism really has nothing to do with Christianity at all.

Religious parents are seldom interested in taking care of their kids' behavior, or wildly controlling, no middle ground if true believers are involved. My cousins tend to go with "they'll figure it out eventually." Eventually often means a 18 year old who quits the 7th grade in disgust and goes to work in the family meth lab.
