#1 god works in mysterious ways.
#2 god has a plan.
#3 We can't understand that plan because we're just humans.
#4 We will rebuild for the glory of god
#5 (right after they get the insurance check ... ) praise god, we have an even better church.
I have to add one thing to this:
#6 If an non-christian community is hit: "Praise the lord, he'll rid the worlds of heathens! Good riddance!"
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

Which brings up my biggest issue with not believing in the afterlife. I will not get to gloat if I'm right.

Biggest downer. Would be nice if for just a few minutes after death they see that they were wrong. Just a few minutes and then darkness comes and takes them back to oblivion. Just so we can have that 'told you so' moment.
To think all the theists in the world that have died and never knew they were wrong. Just completely unaware that they ever existed at all.

Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.
Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.
You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

Oh how I wish that were the case. While I would not want this for many people, for some of the more obnoxious pulpit pounders I would love to be there at that moment when they realise they're going to cease to exist. That "oh shit" moment would be priceless.
Does this make me a bad person?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

I'd say it makes you "a person". The "bad" bit is superfluous.

Nah, personally I consider it justice. All those fucking years of them harping on about death, can't wait for the end of the world shit and some afterlife only to learn they were wrong the whole time. It'll be priceless. Especially those who kept harping on about us going to hell. To see their face when they realise that they were wrong, it would be most satisfying.

The rational explanation is that tornadoes tend to do that a lot, but I wouldn't expect your average Christian to know that.

Wait, I don't understand, are people knocking on your door asking for prayer? My, that's a bit preachy.

Don't you get it? Asking for prayer is their underhanded way of asking for money. Don't be fooled!
"Sisters, you know only the north; I have traveled in the south lands. There are churches there, believe me, that cut their children too, as the people of Bolvangar did--not in the same way, but just as horribly. They cut their sexual organs, yes, both boys and girls; they cut them with knives so that they shan't feel. That is what the Church does, and every church is the same: control, destroy, obliterate every good feeling. So if a war comes, and the Church is on one side of it, we must be on the other, no matter what strange allies we find ourselves bound to."
