why i respect muslims more than christians

why i respect muslims more than christians
1. the % of muslims that want to kill people is very small compared to the worlds population of muslims'
where as the % of christians that want to tell me about Jesus is much higher

2. the muslims i have met in real life, (in america and abroad) were very nice people, and they didnt shove the koran down my thraot like christians shoved bible, and you wouldnt even know they were muslim if they were white

3. Muslims actually seem to respect god. christians joke about him all the time, "jesus is my homeboy" but with muslims god is srs business. they do their religious rites strictly.

4. Had a muslim friend in highschool, during the month of ramadan i didnt even know he fasted (i didnt even know when ramadan was!) and during lunch he would just be like "nah im not hungry"
this last year in college, had a catholic chic in my psychology class. She gave up chocolate for lint. for the first 2 days she wouldnt shut up about how much she misses chocolate, then the 3rd day she bought a huge bag of hersheys and said "its ok, god forgives me"

5. I like the sound of their surahs

nice but this is why I don't:
1. there are a higher about that do, they don't say it to your face or they say it in Arabic.
2. I can not disagree with this one as long as you don't do or say anything that my offend them.
3.There a difference between respecting ones God, and getting over-sensitive then somebody disagreed or makes a slightly insulting remark, Muslims take it TOO seriously.
4.I can't say anything
5. see 4.
my own reasons:
1. Islam is a science black hole. In the last 10 years Islam has produced 440 science papers, that's smaller then just Harvard.
2. Islam has a strange superiority complex, stronger then xian or Judaism.
3.Islamic lunatics are the most dangerous in the world, they well literally kill there self for an attack.

So talking is now equated with murder?

A Moslem looked down upon me for getting drunk and later on I found out they started to drink, so ummm = Number 4 is BS. The only reason he did not say anything was because he did not want to look different that the rest. Had his faith been more accepted, he would be talking about it.

There is a difference between respect and being uptight...Christians have them as well, they're called Fundamentalists.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

I'm definitely not going to say this applies to all Muslims, but I've seen far too many that are far too sensitive about their beliefs, and there are too many willing to kill themselves and others in the name of their religion. Too many seem to be against free speech, demanding that something be removed if it offends them.

Came across this a little earlier and reminded me of this thread: http://www.memecenter.com/fun/394682/terrorist-troll

Note all the Muslims asking for it to be taken down. (again there are a couple of Muslims who have no problem with it, I'm not saying this applies to all Muslims, but definitely more-so than I've seen in Christianity)

Sorry, I have this thing about wasting my time watching Islam apologetics videos: they're even worse than Christian apologetic videos. Especially the condescending ones such as one entitled "My religion is true, your is mistake." They usually focus on using verses from the quran to prove the quran. ie "The quran says 'bla bla bla, Allah is the only God, all others are false, bla bla bla.' See, the quran is true and Allah is the only god!"

@zentor,

That has to be one of the more ignorant and bigoted bits of hot cock I've heard here since this morning. (you haven't quite caught up with our resident Catholic apologists, but you're getting there).

Me? I neither despise nor respect any group of people. My respect and my contempt are both earned,on an individual basis.

Preaching and killing are two very VERY different things. I'm sure you knew that though?

Have you never met a Christian that lives by the Bible???

Sorry for being picky, but it seems like you have a bias towards Muslims. Not that there's anything wrong with that in the least bit, but I just find you're being unfair to Christians with meaningless comparisons (killing/preaching) and ignorance (saying that only Muslims take their religion seriously).

Where Muslims are outnumbered and outgunned by non-Muslims, there is plenty of warmth and kindness towards non-Muslims. For this reason, I can understand why you arrived at the conclusion you did. I think that behind closed doors, Muslim parents are shoving the religion down children's throats. I visited mosques and saw an Imam shouting "Read your Koran!" to a young child like a madman on crack. I visited mosques a number of times during my days of "deconversion" to learn more about religion. I asked many questions and the answers always had disturbing implications (different mosques tended to have immigrants from different countries), especially when I asked why the women were fully covered, separated during prayer, and not being openly social like the men.

You mentioned ratios for behaviors by Muslims and Christians. Think about this. What percent of Muslims believe in evolution and what percent of Christians do? What percentage of Muslims literally believe Hell has fire and what percent of Christians do? The criteria used to label Christians "fundamentalists" (Old Earth, Hell fires, etc.) applies to the overwhelming majority to Muslims I ever met.
