I could have also just stated that I don't take the Bible litterally. But if I do that, then you don't get to learn that each individual person applies their own experiences and interpretations to the Bible.

I guess using the bible to discredit other parts of the bible is something I haven't seen much of to be fair.

I'm sorry, I hope I'm not derailing this or anything, I didn't even bother to read past this, I couldn't. I have to ask this question. How the fuck does one read the bible logically? Even if you could get past the parts that make the entire thing look like some fantasy writers acid trip, how do you get through the rampant inconsistencies and contradictions. Not to mention the horrendous violence, up to and including dashing infants against rocks for things their culture did before they were even old enough to hold their own god damned heads up straight. There is nothing about that book that is fucking logical and I can't stand how self righteous that just sounded, especially while having an obviously blatant disregard for the points I just made.
Wow, I'm sorry, that just had to come out. That phrase set something off inside me that I guess I didn't realize I was holding in.
In the name of all that is dark and unholy, I just went back and read some more of this thread and can't even imagine the world of shit I just got myself involved in by replying to that post.
As to the OP I am sorry for contributing to the further derailment of this thread. I hope that it can be gotten back on track. Just out of curiosity were there any pictures of said festival. I would be interested to see what a festival of that kind even looks like. Sounds quite interesting and open. I would like to be a part of that kind of thing, if it wasn't religiously motivated and all that.

This would of course include you then, right? You are either Christian or non-Christian. You made the distinction and subsumed everybody, not me. So, now knowing that you also don't read the Bible 'logically', why should I consider anything you have to say on the matter? Or, are you the one true Scotsman and consider yourself outside the definition?
