Considering the prepetrator wore body armor befitting a member of the SWAT team, it seems unclear exactly what greater prevelence of concealed fire arms amongst the audience of the movie theater would accomplish, other than elicit sadistic laughter from the M-16 armed and armor protected mass killer while unarmored theatergoings are now shot not from just one, but many directions.
Yes, because scores of scared people who can't drive a 2 tonne vehicle safely should have a lethal weapon designed to kill.

They feel too safe and would like to live dangerously.
I believe majority of gun related injuries and deaths in this country came from idiots shooting themselves, their friends or relatives in what, despite its predictability, are euphamistically called "accidents". BTW, feeling threatened by the sanity of the rest of the world, the National Rifle Association appearently wish to hoist the second amendment upon foreign countries as well by decrying a "world wide war on guns". 
I think the surge in gun sales has less to do with people feeling the need to defend themselves, and is fueled more by their fear that liberals will use this as an excuse to take their guns away.

Hmmm. Maybe the solution to shootings isn't actually more guns?

I'm an older bloke living alone in a high crime area with an unsettling number of home invasions. I have never owned a firearm,although I was a grunt and rated marksman. I have an American Pit Bull. Anyone who tries to hurt me will lose an appendage, assuming Shadow doesn't rip his throat out. I had a chat with the local police before getting the dog. |
