The Doctrine of the Holy Trinity?

In this instance I fail to see how that could be reasoned at all. Even if Jesus wasn't actually alive he was still within the natural universe and therfore was natural, him being God means that God was natural ergo; we have a contradiction which seems irreconsilable by reson.

I just find it strange how these two tenets of a religion seem logically incompatible. Yet are still accepted on nothing more than their face value as 'tenets of the religion'.

Sam

It cannot be reasoned, which is what I said did I not? It is never accepted on face value, you've just proved how it cannot be. You're saying people skip over it without consideration... but then this isn't Christian belief. It is only possible to be accepted given faith. Faith is a core requirement. With faith it makes sense. Of course you need to seriously consider it and not crassly and superficially dismiss it.

This kinda flies in the face of the "God is non-temporal, pure actuality and deviod of any potentiality" bullshit thats been peddled round here of late.

If Jesus was genuinely 'God on Earth', "100% god", then he was surely temporal, and had potentiality.

This is one of many dogma's that christianity shoots itself in the foot with; though as fr0do says above - "With faith it makes sense" - you just can't argue with a statement like that!!!

It's their fairy tale, Sam. They can make it anything they want it to be. They can make it 100% god and man and who only eats chinese food with chopsticks on alternate Tuesdays in the winter time for lunch.

What they cannot do is prove that any of their bullshit is factual.

If Jesus is 100% god, and 100% man... then Jesus is 200% ^_^

You remind me of "Lost In Space" (the original and best of course, not the trash film) ... something like "Danger, danger, Alien Life Form Approaching!"

Restating: Dismissing something without thought is pointless.
