Being that I started my period when I was 10, I don't think girls/women should start experimenting sexually simply because they have started their menses. Experimenting with one's sexuality is good and healthy, but not for a 10 year old.

I don't see a problem with children masturbating and experimenting with their sexuality in that way, but yeah, intercourse at that age is extreme indeed.

Agreed. Self-exploration and gratification is appropriate.

They are so uptight about sex!!!!
Sex is to be enjoyed and not just a function to get pregnant!! it's great!!
So why the homophobia? That puzzles me... What are they afraid of? Secretly they may be suppressing an urge of their own

Indeed, suppressing one's own sexuality is not healthy nor natural, so their body and spirit starts looking for a way around it.

I noticed a funny thing with the orthodox Christians that I sometimes met in Poland and in the Balcans. They are very uptight about sexuality of course and always refer to it in the context of marriage. But they will sometimes make really crappy jokes about sex etc. and a second later return to their repressive and uptight, menacing stance. Funny how the brainswashed brain works.

I suppose because sexuality is so liberating and self-empowering, they just do not want the sheep to be liberated nor ever feel anything other than powerless. Hence the orgasm would only be allowed in the controlled environment of marriage since it cannot be eliminated ;-)

I have met an orthodox Christian woman who was so disconnected from her body that she did not even masturbate though she complained that she never had an orgasm during her marital sex "routine". Since she never orgasmed even though her organs were fully functional, I would call it a "mental castration" performed on her by her religion.

What Min said, plus just a dash of Ciel_Rouge. My take on it stems from the way the xtian religion was used as a means of socio-political control especially during the period popularly known as The Dark Age. I've said this before and often around the board, but in a nutshell: in a feudalistic society, the minority ruling élite needs some method to prevent the unwashed majority from making the connection between just how much hard graft and shit they are forced to endure just to be allowed to survive and all that wealth and fine food with which their leaders seem to be blessed. The most effective way in such a time of superstition, mythology and magic would have been to warn of the dangers of lusting after such material things and that the reward for a lifetime of shit is glory in some Shangri-La in the sky - coincidentally after you're dead and can't answer back. Essentially, sin is human nature, criminalised.

As I see it in such a scenario, the demonisation of sinful pleasures such as sex is all wrapped up in keeping the populace hard at work providing for your table and your tax coffers; after all, if the peasants are spending all their time shagging themselves senseless, beyond maintaining the population of course, who's going to work the land and keep you in the manner to which you're accustomed? They might just become doscontented with their lot - and don't those ploughshares look sharp...
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

I think it is the other way around. Christianity did not become repressive to better suite the dark ages, but rather the dark ages became christinaity is oppressive and without accountability

One might say christianity may not have had the power to repress without adverse consequence to itself in every way possible, but it would never forgo any opportunity to oppress so long as it perceives itself as having the power to do so without adverse consequence to itself.

The very framework of christianity, omnipotent and omniscient diety without competition and with strict dictates, and itself offering the sole means to interprete the dictates, is designed precisely to justify its own unaccountability

Imagine the church said it that homosexuality was ok. A sizable percentage of priests would then be able to let their urges go free.... still hidden, but amongst themselves, it's always hidden! Tongue

@ Chuck - I don't think that xtianity originated in the Dark Age, if that's how I came across, in fact I see it pretty much as you described in that the Dark Age became infamously so because of the religion's oppression. However, I don't think it can be denied that the religion certainly flourished during the period. Feudal societies tend not to last very long without some form of control of the masses and there's only so much you can do militarily before you run out of population. Keeping the populace fearful, most effectively through superstition which is viciously self-feeding in that it makes the people create their own fear with just a little push to get it started.

Why don't Baptists have sex standing up?

Answer: Because they don't want god to think they're dancing.

There's so many varied reasons for the religious not to like sex. I'm certain that there's no one primary reason for their disdain of all things sexual.
How lucky are we to live in a country where we can freely say fuck you without worry of having our nose cut off or our faces being burned with acid simply for wanting to be free. My deepest sympathy for those women (and men) who suffer a lifetime of unfair inhuman rules in strict religious countries controlled by muslim fucktards and the like.
