At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

If he were omnipotent couldn't he have just magically created a 'sweet savour' for himself? He just loves messing with us...*

Judges 12:7

Quote:29 Then the Spirit of the Lord came on Jephthah. He crossed Gilead and Manasseh, passed through Mizpah of Gilead, and from there he advanced against the Ammonites. 30 And Jephthah made a vow to the Lord: “If you give the Ammonites into my hands, 31 whatever comes out of the door of my house to meet me when I return in triumph from the Ammonites will be the Lord’s, and I will sacrifice it as a burnt offering.”

32 Then Jephthah went over to fight the Ammonites, and the Lord gave them into his hands. 33 He devastated twenty towns from Aroer to the vicinity of Minnith, as far as Abel Keramim. Thus Israel subdued Ammon.

34 When Jephthah returned to his home in Mizpah, who should come out to meet him but his daughter, dancing to the sound of timbrels! She was an only child. Except for her he had neither son nor daughter. 35 When he saw her, he tore his clothes and cried, “Oh no, my daughter! You have brought me down and I am devastated. I have made a vow to the Lord that I cannot break.”

36 “My father,” she replied, “you have given your word to the Lord. Do to me just as you promised, now that the Lord has avenged you of your enemies, the Ammonites. 37 But grant me this one request,” she said. “Give me two months to roam the hills and weep with my friends, because I will never marry.”

38 “You may go,” he said. And he let her go for two months. She and her friends went into the hills and wept because she would never marry. 39 After the two months, she returned to her father, and he did to her as he had vowed. And she was a virgin.

Notice that nowhere in this whole 2 month period does your fucking god tell "Jephthah" "Hey, don't worry about it. Fuhgeddaboutit."

Now let's see you twist your balls into a knot denying what is written.

Judges 12:7is as follows:
Jdg 12:7 And Jephthah judged Israel six years. Then died Jephthah the Gileadite, and was buried in [one of] the cities of Gilead.

That was pretty explicit.
Pics or it didn't happen? But there are no illustrations in the bible, so I guess we can't show it to you...

Jephthah daughter did not mourn the fact that she was going to be offered as a burnt sacerfice. She mourned the fact that she would never marry and lemented for 2 months over that fact. So how could Jepthah keep his vow and yet his daughter's biggest concern be she would never marry? Jephthah could have "offered her up" to the tabernacle as a servant instead of sacrificing her on the alter. The fact that you can not definatly show that Jephthah Sacirfice his daughter on the alter, reduced you claim wild speculation, and in light of the direct commands NOT to sacerfice Humans it is safe to say that God never would have wanted Jephthah to sacrifice his daughter on the alter.(Leviticus 20:1-5). Jeremiah 7:31; 19:5; and 32:35 clearly indicate that the idea of human sacrifice has "never even entered God's mind."
Meaning if someone did offer a child as a sacirfice to God it does not mean God accepted it.

You're absolutely correct that there's no verse 41, but to finish the chapter as you request:

Quote:And it came to pass at the end of two months, that she returned unto her father, who did with her according to his vow which he had vowed: and she knew no man. And it was a custom in Israel,

That the daughters of Israel went yearly to lament the daughter of Jephthah the Gileadite four days in a year.

I can't honestly see how it helps your case; especially since you once stated that you "spoke where the bible spoke and remained silent where the bible was silent" - ie, if the bible doesn't say it, it becomes baseless speculation. Thus we have to rule out any hypothetical "verse 41" and just go with what the text says. And oh, what the text does say...

His vow is to sacrifice 'whatever comes out of the door of my house to meet me when I return in triumph from the Ammonites' as a burnt offering.

He sees his daughter and is devestated that he must kill her.

This is just short of explicitly saying "he burned he alive as a sacrifice". It can't be much more obvious.

Speaking where the bible speaks and remaining silent where the bible is silent in this case, is to not assume you know why jewish girls mourned Jep's daughter. For you do not know what would be a worse fate, for them Death or slavery. Nor do any of us know any of the stories surrounding why Jep's daughter mourned her not being able to get married so bitterly. Perhaps she was completely head over heals with some guy and they were about to get married, and then she is "Offered up" as a temple slave. This could have been an old jewish version of Romeo and juliet.
-Or-
Her Father could have killed her even if it was against the temple/God's Law. The bible is silent here and only the fool argues that Did infact die or did infact live when we have no record of what actually happened.

Fuck you, Drippy. You know, even morons like you should be able to hold a thought long enough to get from point A to point B. Your boy "vowed" to sacrifice as a burnt offering what ever came out of his door first and then it says he did as he vowed.

Even you should be able to make this connection. Instead you retreat into the typical intellectual dishonesty which is commonplace among people who profess to believe in abject bullshit.

You are exposed as a bullshit artist for all to see. Not that it is news to anyone here.

And fuck your god, too.
