Perhaps we're at cross-purposes. I was talking generally, you were talking specifically. I was passing no judgement on your relationship with your friend so intended no offense, particularly as I didn't express any of the points attributed to me anyway.

Well I agree that allot of preachers are generally like that, as long as they are human beings I will not have them silenced and dismissed so easily. They don't have to be right to speak, but they have the right to speak.
Sorry if you feel I was combative, sometimes a small comment can really bother me. lol like Tim Minchin said sticks and stones can break bones but words can break hearts. In a way, this is true.

All you A's do is take everything/anything I say, or anyone with a religion says and twist it up to suit your own dispositions at the moment.
It's rather childish, and boring to "assume" everyone who is a "believer" is a clone of your worst "Christian" nightmare. And vis-vis (OK?).
I pretty much knew this would happen from the get go. But I also thought I'd get good, engaging arguments on why there isn't a God. My observations (if I may do some twisting myself) is there are deep rooted reasons besides "I haven't seen a God lately", that makes you rely on your eyes and reasoning based on subtraction.
No matter what you feel about God... Faith is still a part of EVERY person's life! Whether it's believing that our country will rebound, or the stockmarket, or our kid will do good in school, or that our faithfulness in our job, or careers will pay off someday.
Not all of you have chimmed in, but most of you seem to think I'm just another religious zealot who's trying to thump you over the head with my bible. And with nothing to offer except more of the same.
I'm understanding that you don't want to engage in anything that will refute what you have your mind set on. I guess I'm like that too.....BUT....with one big difference!
I'm unable to think that this is all there is to life! "Time" alone, and of itself proves there was indeed a beginning....and there will be an end! What preceeded that, and what will come after that are still a mystery to EVERYONE!
You came here claiming you managed to convince two atheists into becoming believers.... and claiming you might do the same with any of us.
We waited for you to continue with that, but you turned out to be a kid that just wants to play victim...
People here see through that and just make fun of you.
Enjoy it, or give them some reason not to make fun.

I never understood how atheists can really make that assertion.
People behave differently when they know (or think) they are being watched. The threat of punishment is a very real deterrent.
Moreover, the threat of punishment is societies way of publically ''directing traffic'' in relation to behaviour.
If immoral human behaviour is unaffected/uninfluenced by the knowledge that such behaviour may be or is being watched, why on earth
do we have plain-clothed (undercover) law enforcement personnel? Why bother using unmarked police cars? Why this?

When you don't know, make something up! ...isn't that the true theist™ motto? (Well, he could have gotten stats from a biased source and not verifyed them...)
For exapmle, whenever I see a bible quote from a list of contradictions or evil acts or whatnot, I go to a bible website to see if it is comparable to the newest translations.
