Religion is nothing more than misplaced mythology
#11
RE: Religion is nothing more than misplaced mythology
At some point in time, when humanity was in its infancy, religion was a rational thing, as an attempt to make an explanation that made sense to proto-man's simple mind. Having an explanation for things proto-man could not control (like the weather, natural disaster, etc.) demystified them, and turned them into something not to be afraid of, but to be conquered. Now that we have scientific explanations and the ability of logical reasoning, religion is very irrational, and unnecacary, and only serves to create foundation for people to lie to themselves and cloud their veiw of reality to make their probably unfortunate situations not their fault, or normal.
Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

No, fr0d0, he is absolutely right. Religion has always been a comfort thing... and nothing more. It is a way to cope in a world both frightening and mysterious... it is a basis for bravery in the face of the uncontrollable... it is the confidence that the sentient need, lest insanity and paranoia envelope them entirely, drowning them.

Once the sentient population can comfort itself with logic: it has no more need of religion.

Then you know nothing of religion Saerules.

A sentient population comforts itself with delusion. It's the way of all flesh. Religion deals with logic, science with evidence.

Don't you think science is logical too? And how is religion logical?

Religion being non evidential in certain realms demands it be more about logic. Science is putting together what is evidenced. It internally requires less logic.

EvF remember a theist idea of logic is different from our idea of logic. Our logic is natural and stems from our own minds and reflections of nature and the world we live in.Their logic is supernatural and stems from a stupid concept called faith without evidence in fables of our origins based on lack of knowledge and fear of the unknown.

There is no logic in religion what religionist try to pass off as logic is laughable in my view. It's nothing more than apologetics that try to make sense of the stupid mistakes found in the bible by the so called inspired nomads that put it together.
There is nothing people will not maintain when they are slaves to superstition

Putting together that which is evidenced is a logical thing to do. Beliefs that are non-evidential however, are not logical IMO.

That is your personal restriction Evie. I see you do it with philosophical ideas yet you deny this is possible to falsely justify your atheism.

@ CP: yours is a seriously warped understanding the illogicality of which has been pointed out to you. You are of course entitled to your opinion you crazy diamond Wink
