So the physical expression is entirely for the comfort of the people doing the praying? It isn't actually remotely required, as God can read their minds anyway, and he doesn't really care for the physical expression? No you plank. People do what people are led naturally to do. There is no 'requirement'. You do what you need to. I already said this

We were specifically talking about praying all through this conversation and CP swerves off discussing 'Worship' which no one else was discussing! Read it and see!

As Rhizo said you should have been more specific.

Indeed I should. It's ok I wont hold it against you. (I'd forgive you but apparently you're beyond that )

So...he will only even have a chance of obeying your prayers if you put your hands together, or demonstrate it in your way? I don't get that because: Why do you even need to bother praying, if he can read your mind? He knows your wishes. And he knows if you're sincere or not in your wanting them, and if they're justified or not.
God says yes to prayers when they are prayed in accordance with what God would want. If you pray for a million pounds God obviously isn't going to do it. Its also down to how much faith you have.
We pray because its a relationship with God. God wants us to talk to Him, so I think there are certain good things that God can do in any situation and He will do one of those if no pray is involved. If we pray it then changes the good things God will do from one to the one we pray for, since He reacts in relationship to us. So in a way praying is in one way alot for us, to know God better as a person and to grow in trust in Him. I hope that makes sense, I just came up with in on the spot lol.

Spoken like a true Christian solar but as I have said many times free will is a fallacy and it only applies to your accepting God's will or doing what pleases you.If you accept God's will then you no longer have free will because now your will is usurped in all matters by that of God.
When you stray then as all atheists have done you take back your free will from God and live life as you desire for better or for worse.

I happen to believe (independently of religion) that it's the rules that set you free. Anarchy is incredibly limiting. When you know your boundaries you are at liberty to concentrate on everything else. Society's laws make us free to go about our lives with certain security. I've never seen God's laws as limiting but always as liberating. His is the way to fulfillment and happiness.. that's what he wants from me.. so I don't get what you're saying at all CP.

I know you said this. In the above quote, I wasn't necessarily doubting you, I was just trying to get a confirmation of what you believe.

Yeah, I noticed that right after I'd done my whole post, and editing it all out afterwards I didn't think was necessarily the right thing to do. I mean, what if you replied a sec later and what you'd replied to had then been edited out? Apologies anyway if I've at all contributed to the misunderstanding.

Wow, no objections whatsoever? Not even a hint of one. I'm stunned.
