Theism and Western atheism are on the same continuum. Both are realist.

Am I insulting you? What else would you take as victory?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I'd prefer to continue talking about slits..personally....but your guess is probably better than mine.

Ok, so both groups mentioned in your OP agree that things exist. This would be the point at which Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's greatest creation confesses to a painful condition of colonic dyschezia (or "no shit Sherlock", to use the vernacular). That things exist would hopefully be undeniable, though not necessarily so; but there the two groups tend to part company, because the inevitable follow-up questions must be "what things exist?" and "how do we determine this existence?"
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

He must be the Quantum Ranger! Everybody run!

My ignore list

"The lord doesn't work in mysterious ways, but in ways that are indistinguishable from his nonexistence."

Quote:Something cannot arise from other, because then you could have a giraffe spring from a rock. Anything could arise from anything.

This is a non-sequitur. You jump from "something can arise from something else" to "anything can arise from anything" in one big fell swoop. Those two sentences are not logically equivalent, no more than the sentence "some animals are giraffes" is equivalent to the the sentence "all animals are giraffes".

If you negate claims of existence, you automatically negate God etc.

So this is a harder form of atheism than found in the West.

And another advantage is that you are not drawn into a losing argument about how the universe came about.

Dawkins and Harris can learn a few things from the Buddhists.

Buddhists seem to like making that claim, they have trouble substantiating it though....

How about this for a negation. Buddhism has nothing to teach me, it is void of any value to me whatsoever.

Not at all, not in the least, and not in your wildest dreams. Apart from the fact that I don't, and didn't, "negate claims of existence", in order for existence claims to be assessed you have to demonstrate that "God etc" are things that exist.

Besides which, as a wise guy once said

Ok, let me try to explain.

There has to be some relationship between two objects A and B, for B to arise from A.

If B is "other" than A, there is no such relationship.

Thus if you insist on arising from "other", you could have a giraffe arise from a rock.

Of course you do.
