Actually, new research into the life of the woman shows that she was not such a saintly individual. You really should check it out. Her humanitarian image appears to be quite the myth.

Sin destroys the soul by causing it to be burned in everlasting fire.
If the soul is burned in fire for time without end how is it destroyed? Mustn't there be "something" to burn for eternity?

Ignoring reality for a comfortable delusion, I see. Isn't that just the typical Christian way.

Yeahhh Maelstrom, been there proved that to Ron. Apparently he'd rather ignore facts than change a single belief in his brain in the face of irrefuteable evidence from those of his own Catholic creed. Whatever.
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!
Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.
Dead wrong. The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.
Quote:Some people deserve hell.
I say again: No exceptions. Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it. As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

Ah, yes. The good ol' "I don't have to prove anything, because I'm special and have been chosen by god" argument.
The pinnacle of Christian arrogance.

LOL!
You are taking the literal and throwing the concept out the window!
"Our sin" is what Jesus died for. He paid the price for our actions!
We were'nt coerced to sin. We did it of our [free will]. But, God made the opportunity available to us. And that is why He needed to also justify His condemnation of our actions. aka.... "He was treated as a criminal".
He paid for doing that! "He became sin, and put sin to death on the cross." Sin isn't "necessarily" a death sentence as it was before Christ!
We are now in His grace...IF we so chose. Because free will still exists...as evident by your resistence to His grace for you!
So, you're just not going to answer the question?
See, I know your answer, if you're being honest, is that no, it isn't possible for someone to disagree with you and have, in your mind, studied the bible sufficiently. That's why I asked the question at all.
Now, will you provide an honest answer?

So, you give him a hard time for copy/pasting, while in the same moment admitting that you wouldn't consider his position at all if he'd just told you directly. Maybe you should just change your avatar to that picture of a guy with his fingers in his ears, already.

[Simplicity] makes you look dumb... but I'll play along until one of us gets bored.
We went against God's command. That is "sin".

Well, you probably don't have one.... but yes most of us do have a soul. And that part won't be destroyed. Because it is not made of dirt! It is God's spirit within us. The gift of LIFE, and a part of Him. But it also can't be reunited with Him because of our refusal to love Him, and keep His commandments. So it is separated forever....in the "eternal fire" Whatever that place be that God put's satan and his future buddies.
"Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being."
Your little game is like my 4 year old, asking "why", "why", "WHY". But never really making any sense of things in her under-developed mind. She's looking for simple answers to things that are allien to her.
And just like her... you will never know until you find it though understanding "what" it is you are looking for!
It's like a family member saying, come out and look in the lawn.... I lost something! And then proceed NOT to tell you what you are looking for! We need to know "what" we are looking for.

That's still not explaining the process of decay. How does sin do this to the body?

How do you know this? How does one determine if a person has a soul or not?

How do you know any of this? If you can't even demonstrate that there's a soul, then how can you demonstrate that the soul is part of your god's spirit?

Oh, now it makes sense why you don't answer our questions. Your little four year old nags you with "why" questions all day long, and instead of appeasing her curiosity of the world around her, you probably got tired of it and stopped teaching her things. Or you just never knew in the first place. You know, it's okay to say, "I don't know." It makes someone more credible as a human being if there are legitimate flaws in their knowledge.

You, as the helper, have options in this scenario. You can A. ask them what they're looking for and B. stop searching if they won't give you any information.
