Logic has to do with thinking skills. Your post above demonstrates your unwillingness to address anything not literally stated/ anything which requires basic thought. Your objections are based upon 'not thinking'.

No, I'm almost certain, what he refuses to accept is the layer of bull hooey you slather onto your patchwork of a book to make it work.

RE: Did God fire an Angel or Did an Angel just quit?
Quote:Satan’s fall from heaven is symbolically described in Isaiah 14:12-14 and Ezekiel 28:12-18. While these two passages are referring specifically to the kings of Babylon and Tyre, they also reference the spiritual power behind those kings, namely, Satan.

Not only is Isaiah referring to the king of Babylon, but there's actually no evidence that the name Lucifer referred to there is referencing Satan, and no justification for calling Satan by the name Lucifer. At any rate, why would Isaiah say "For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God?" Obviously it's talking about an earthly king and not an angel, who would have already been in heaven, not needing to ascend into it. And Satan wouldn't have had a throne anyway, so again, it's talking about an earthly king.

I know Christians will claim that Satan was cast out of heaven so he'd try to ascend to it again, but why would he have been cast out before he tried to "exalt [his] throne above the stars of God?"
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

I don't know either. I never completely read the bible. Kinda like a bad movie. I've shut tons of them off after about 30 minutes. It doesn't take that long to recognize SHITTY entertainment when you see it.

This is just how it is usually told to me. Some say He was banished, some say Satan left. Each version begs questions!

Why did God feel it was necessary to get rid of him? Does God always solve his problems with extermination or is God aware of any other solution?

I am sure you are willing to believe it must have been the best way otherwise, God wouldn't have done it!

Why? I would ask.

To that, some would say, because He's God, and God is perfect.

....and so the cirlce continues. No end, no beginning. Just a giant ring of shit!

For the same reason He also got rid of 1/3 of the angelic population who followed Him. Because they wanted what God had and if you read the passage in revelations I left, you would see they even are willing to go so far as to try and take it with one final War.

If a sentiant being wants what you have or what you have given to your children, and is willing to take it, or murder to get it, then what other option is there besides seperation from those who want to live in God's soceity, and those who are against it?

So do we. It's called prision. We seperate those who do not want to live in our soceities in the same way God does. His version of "life without the possiablity of parole just happens to last longer than ours.Big Grin

God saw this as a potentially unavoidable disaster? That's why he banished them?

I don't know. Why did we change the subject? I tought we were talking about God's choices. How did we get on the subject of my petty options on earth when faced with similar problems?

Oh! So God handles problems like people! That's what it means when it says he created us in his image! We handle problems like Gods!

What is told in the book of Revelation, has not happened yet the 'war' in chapter 12 is still forth comming. God knows it is comming and has foretold that when it is over the result will be eternal banishment.

Satan was not sent to Hell initially. He was sent here. This world is the closest thing that their ever will be to s satan run realm. Once his reign here is over he will be sent to Hell for eternal punishment.

Same subject just a different POV.

To establish the egg comes before what we know to be chicken.

Indeed we do and when we do it is deemed humane.
Appearently when the Author of creation does it we deem it unfair.

Hold on. God banished Satan because he thought Satan and a bunch of angels would try to over-throw God's throne? He banashed them to earth, to torture his most prized creation, us. But, all of this is just to kill time before God decides to issue his ultimate punishment, Hell? You made the comparison of Jail earlier. How is what you've just described different than us sending criminals (rapists and murderers) to spend time at school with our children before actually putting them in Jail? This merciful stuff sounds really confusing.

Yeah Drich! Because we're puny people, and he's supposed to be a supreme God! Human faculties seem a bit primitive for such a divine entity to be limited by. Some of us find it a bit unsatisfying. But hey, we all drink Kool-aide, choose your flavor wisely, eh?

Does it say how long God waited before he decided to cast him down? Was this before or after He created earth? Did the devil come before the...I mean, the chicken before the egg? You know?

The banishment initially was based on the sin of pride. Lucifer and those who followed him wanted what God had. Kingdom and authority. So God seperated those who wanted to live apart from God from those who wanted to live with God/Under His authority. Persumeably to test the hearts of rest of creation.

Quote:He banashed them to earth, to torture his most prized creation, us.
Torture? No. Tempt yes. Earth is where the wheat is threshed, sifted and winnowed from the chaff. (Where those who truly want to be with God and spend all they have to A/S/K for God, and those who do not are seperated from those who do.)

Satan and his followers are not gods or powers acting against God as the movies and some religions portray. The bible upto revelation shows (especially in the book of Job and in the temptations of Christ) that the devil is a reluctant servant of God, and can not do anything unless given permission. It is not till revelations 12 does satan finally declare war.

Quote:But, all of this is just to kill time before God decides to issue his ultimate punishment, Hell?
Again no, Satan serves a purpose and is still a servant of God. He will be until he tries and breaks his bonds in Revelation 12. after which will be sent to Hell not as it's ruler but as a prisoner in a terriable prision.

Quote:You made the comparison of Jail earlier.
The bible refers Hell to be a prision prepared for Satan and his followers.

Quote: How is what you've just described different than us sending criminals (rapists and murderers) to spend time at school with our children before actually putting them in Jail? This merciful stuff sounds really confusing.
Satan repersents choice via sin. Without satan there is no 'knoweledge' of sin. without this knoweledge there is no 'free will.' Fore there is only God's expressed will as witnessed by Adam and Eve upto the fall.

Why do you assume Prision is a Human faculty? As you pointed out God created a prision for Satan first, and we simply followed suit. Just because we adopt something God does, does not then proclude God from using His "Faculty."

It was Between Creation and the Fall.

which could have been days, months years, eons millions of trillions of years. We do not know how long Adam lasted before he fell into temptation.
