Converting from islam any help?

RE: Converting from islam any help?
Aw c'mon! Christianity is the bomb. Pray whenever you want, eat whatever you want, drink whatever you want...all you have to do is believe Jesus died for you. How hard is that?

Generally I'd recommend people to stick with their cultural set-up, as long as they have the right idea.

Fuck off, you small minded, ignorant, scruffy looking nerf herder.

You have no right to tell this person what s/he can and can't (not) believe.

Having a culture is not the same as being confined by your culture. I have culture, a lot of it I don't agree with a lot of it I hate and a lot of it makes me who I am today and affects the decisions I make in life. But that's not the same as saying you cannot adopt a new idea because that's turning your back on your culture. That's bullshit, you're a human being like everyone else, you can adopt a completely different culture if that makes you happy.

And, Sword of Christ,

You recommend people stick to their culture as long as they have the right idea? What the hell does that mean? So anything that did not originate from my culture shouldn't be in my life? Cultures evolve for a reason. "As long as they have the right idea" and that's for you to decide is it? So your culture is somehow superior than the rest and you get to decide when they should stick to theirs and when they're going too far, according to you. Wow.

I'm trying to help him out a bit by suggesting that there is a moderate side of Islam to consider before joining your motley crew. It doesn't seem like he's aware of it.

I just think it's easier for people, quit trying to force words into my mouth.

Muslims believe in the same God so that's fine of course. I don't think Mohammed was genuine prophet but that's my opinion.

At least this 'motley crue' isn't responsible for the worst attrocities in the history of mankind.

*coughs*

Lets have a look at this.

"The classical period of witchhunts in Europe and North America falls into the Early Modern period or about 1480 to 1750, spanning the upheavals of the Reformation and the Thirty Years' War, resulting in an estimated 40,000 to 60,000 executions."

"In the introduction, editor Stéphane Courtois states that "...Communist regimes... turned mass crime into a full-blown system of government"[3]. He claims that a death toll totals 94 million[4]. The breakdown of the number of deaths given by Courtois is as follows:
65 million in the People's Republic of China
20 million in the Soviet Union
2 million in Cambodia
2 million in North Korea
1.7 million in Africa
1.5 million in Afghanistan
1 million in the Communist states of Eastern Europe
1 million in Vietnam
150,000 in Latin America (mainly Cuba)
10,000 deaths "resulting from actions of the international Communist movement and Communist parties not in power."

Before you say Communism doesn't represent atheism witch burning mobs didn't really represent Christianity or faith in general either.
Come all ye faithful joyful and triumphant.

Yes, shithead. Witch burning mobs DO represent xtianity.

And Hitler was one of you fuckheads.

Quote:"My feelings as a Christian points me to my Lord and Savior as a fighter. It points me to the man who once in loneliness, surrounded by a few followers, recognized these Jews for what they were and summoned men to fight against them and who, God's truth! was greatest not as a sufferer but as a fighter. In boundless love as a Christian and as a man I read through the passage which tells us how the Lord at last rose in His might and seized the scourge to drive out of the Temple the brood of vipers and adders. How terrific was His fight for the world against the Jewish poison. To-day, after two thousand years, with deepest emotion I recognize more profoundly than ever before the fact that it was for this that He had to shed His blood upon the Cross. As a Christian I have no duty to allow myself to be cheated, but I have the duty to be a fighter for truth and justice... And if there is anything which could demonstrate that we are acting rightly it is the distress that daily grows. For as a Christian I have also a duty to my own people.

-Adolf Hitler, in a speech on 12 April 1922

Hmm... put people in power who reject the notion of god, and they do horrifying things to one another. Put people in power who claim to serve god, and... they do horrifying things to one another. And this proves what, exactly?
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Then maybe you should learn to express yourself better. What's easier? He's already said he doesn't agree with the teachings of his religion you think it's easier for him to make himself believe again? Please, the easiest path for him seems to be atheism but that's too distasteful for you, right?

I think a lot of muslims will disagree, they don't think jesus is god.
