Um Hitler called Germany "God's chosen people" and did scapegoat Jews. You can claim religion has nothing to do with war, but it certainly is a great motivator. Even in America today, people put on their cars ribbons "God Bless Our Troops". Funny how this god character is always everyone's side. No, nobody said that WWI orWWII were religious wars, but it does seem to sneak in through the back door every time. Just as Lincoln observed, during the Civil War, on both the Union and Confederate side soldiers read the same bible, prayed to the same god and both invoked his help against the other side. And it has always been that way. In the middle east, it's always about religion along with whatever else it's about. During the Cold War we had to defeat those "godless" commie bastards. He's always on our side, after all. No matter which side we might be on.

Money - Mammon Sex - Aphrodite War/Power - Mars The ancient Greco-Romans would have no trouble recognizing the gods we worship in our post-modern secular Western culture. I have, however, become very well acquainted with plenty of money-grubbing, power hungry Xtians in my time. Hmmmm.....
