How can a god, that apparently loves everyone, allow this kind of thing to happen?

Maybe, or they could mean that glory should go to God either way.
Quote:And if they do win, do they attribute this to god?
Sometimes, but unless they say something like "God specifically told me to go with a draw on that touchdown play," such attribution would fall under the "general" category.

ahaha I'm English, I was talking about real football. Why is it that Americans feel they can just rename it soccer. We invented the damn sport, if you play it, you should use the correct name!

'You can have all the faith you want in spirits, and the afterlife, and heaven and hell, but when it comes to this world, don't be an idiot. Cause you can tell me you put your faith in God to put you through the day, but when it comes time to cross the road, I know you look both ways.' - Dr House

Because real football involves hot sweaty men grabbing and jumping on each other in a huge pile, not that faggy, gay soccer stuff.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

Then my point about specific instructions for a scoring play are not applicable, as soccer doesn't have those.

Take it up the side, center it, hope someone's there - all there is to soccer strategy.

It's quite simple....
The answer is quite simple, too...because God doesn't tell us everything.

Instead you go off on all sorts of tangents.
It's quite applicable to expose a straw man.

If I knew a Christian who claimed that God gave precise answers to all his questions, I'd also ask his to ask God about missing children. But I don't know any Christians making that claim.

I fail to see how it is a strawman, all sorts of christians claim to be in direct contact with god, the pope, various pastors and priests, even people like Godschild.

And yet your omniscient, omnipresent, compassionate god refuses to help locate missing children.

If you were in a position to help a child in such a position you would.

So why won't your god? Or are you a more moral person than your god?

It's simple. Very few Christians claim to receive such specific guidance from God. I agree that your question is fair to the few who do make such claim, but for most Christians, it's a straw man. I of course don't read all the posts, so if a Christian here makes such claims, quote it.

So god doesn't guide people?

What's your basis for coming to this conclusion that "most" christians don't get specific guidance from god? Your own personal experience isn't exactly applicable to the entire population.

Not in the way you're suggesting.

In a way that's actually useful?
You got that right.
