Poll for Christians: Are the End Times imminent?
#31
RE: Poll for Christians: Are the End Times imminent?
I don't think the prophesy about Israel becoming a nation again sets any sort of timeline. Eventually, if a group of people want it enough, they can make a new nation and call it whatever they want. If the bible gave an exact year, and it happened in that year, I'd consider it a fulfilled prophesy. Not giving it a timeline means it could take place in the year 5000, and still be considered a fulfilled prophesy.

That's on the same level as "There will be wars, and rumors of wars". Well of course there will be. How about make some specifics? Who will go to war? When will the go to war? How do we avoid the war? Should we partake directly in the war?

Precisely. It is the same as stating, It is going to rain soon and claiming to be a prophet when it rains sometime in the future.

We portuguese have an allegory to that position, "Velho do Restelo" or "the old man in Restelo". Do tell, what has gotten worse in the last 50 years? We have increased life expectancy, we are more tolerant, we have decreased hunger, desease and are able to gather more knowledge to make charity more valuable and worthy.

Do tell us where are we going wrong.

Really the largest percentage of terrible crime, actually all crime are committed by non Christians.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Really? All crime? Care to back up that statement with evidence, or should we throw it on the mountainous trash heap of other unsupported nonsense you routinely assert?

I bet the prison stats refute your assertion.

That's not what I've been hearing. Surely all those christians an American jails didn't just convert after they went to jail.

Atheists should not fill out the poll but are welcome to post comments.
