Exposing The Baptists

Their Own Definition Shows Baptists Are Not Christians

The article writer belongs to the Church of Christ.

Quote:We began our study in September showing there is one church. We know that one church is the church of Christ (Romans 16:16). The evidence against denominationalism continues to prove our stand to be true. Sadly, it also shows how many are lost (Matthew 7:13-14; 21-23). More will be exposed next week.

The answer to this one is easy. The one true Christianity is the one you belong to at the moment.

Yeah, some Christians are more interested in differences than similarities. This isn't exactly news.

Some christians don't think of catholics as such. And I'll be damned, they make all the requirements and are just as dimwitted as those other christians.

Eastern Orthdox Church - Relations With Other Christians

Quote:The Orthodox understand themselves to be the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church; the true Church established by Jesus Christ and placed into the care of the apostles. As almost all other Christian groups are in indirect schism with the Orthodox Church, mostly as a result of the Great Schism with the Roman Catholic Church at the turn of the second Christian millennium (prior to the additional schisms of the Protestant Reformation), these other groups are viewed as being Christian, but who in varying degrees lack full theological orthodoxy and orthopraxy.

As such, all groups outside of the Orthodox Church are not seen as being members of the Church proper, but rather separated brethren who have failed to retain the fullness of the Christian faith and theology, as was given to the apostles by Jesus Christ. These deviations from orthodoxy have traditionally been called heresy, but due to the term's immediately pejorative connotations, some prefer the more technical designation of the term heterodoxy.

So, other Christians aren't members of the 'true' church, including the Roman Catholics.

Which is a pretty big problem when there is no evidence that none of you are right about anything.

Quote:Uh, Sparky, have you read the thread? I said I'll let them under my umbrella if they accept the apostles' creed. That's a pretty big umbrella.

So, you've invented your own arbitrary sorting hat. The Bible doesn't insist upon accepting the Apostle's Creed, which doesn't even appear within its pages.

Quote:So you think most of the people who have ever lived are jokes, and you accuse me of having a small umbrella. That's some interesting logic.

1. Well, perhaps. It's not so big a joke when you don't know any better, but people who are religious in the 21st century have no excuse.

2. It's not about how big the umbrella is, but whether or not the size changes depending on the situation. I don't talk about 'true' atheists. Outside of not having a belief in gods, there are no traits any other atheist must share with me in order to be every bit as 'true' an atheist as I am. Atheism makes no behavioral or moral demands. There are no rituals. Every single person who lacks belief in gods is an atheist, even if they are terrible people whose morals are in total contradiction to mine.

This is why I do not debate with other Christian denominations, who am I to say which church is the most correct, why cause division in the Church. As the writer of the article said that is a sin, yet he does not see the division his article causes, thus he believes he has not committed a sin, when in reality he has by his own rules. One he will not ask for forgiveness and seek redemption, has he condemned his own self, I do not believe he has.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Because there are plenty of divisions within the church already and some of those divisions have lead to a LOT of bloodshed.

Church members have been fighting each other for the brass ring since Peter and Paul and John and Diotrephes.
