What if we were to treat all individuals as individuals, regardless of religious belief, creed or color?

Seems sort of arbitrary, especially considering all the things involved in a biblical marriage that you're ignoring, like paying for your bride, among others. You're not even appealing to tradition- still a fallacy, by the way!- you're appealing to your own personal opinion.

You are in a Christian majority nation in which churches don't even pay taxes. Nor are China, North Korea, or Cambodia behaving nearly as badly and Catholics did during the crusades or the inquisition, or either the Catholics or the Protestants did during and after the reformation.
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god. If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.
