It isn't really the opposite. In both cases a large, unarmed, black man ended up dead because the fucking cops are out of control. The similarities outweigh the differences.
An opposite case would be in Cleveland where a small boy with a toy gun was blown away by a cop within 2 seconds of his driving up to him. Even there....the similarities ultimately are disconcerting. Speaking of the Cleveland case, funny thing about the cop that shot him.. http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/ta...erformance Quote:"He could not follow simple directions, could not communicate clear thoughts nor recollections, and his handgun performance was dismal," Polak wrote. That's from his fucking former superior officer and this asshole still gets hired in Cleveland to hold a gun.

If they did call for backup would there be a van of cops? I was just wondering why so many cops responded. I think race may have something to do with it, that's why I asked if you were black or white Quote:and his handgun performance was dismal," Apparently he's been working on that part of it, F&F. Curious how that one will pan out. There's a video showing the cop shooting the boy on arrival, totally contradicting the story they gave. Will be a hard one for the prosecutors to blow. But I'm sure they manage.
It is about the stupidest thing I can imagine. You're called to the scene where someone has a gun that may or may not be real. So you drive right up beside the kid, affirm that he has the gun he was stated to have, and just shoot him. Instead of a much more reasonable tactic of parking within earshot of the kid, ordering him to put the gun down, confirming that's it's fake, then leave.
Even if they were planning to shoot the kid on arrival, which I would assume they were, why drive so close to him anyway? It's very disheartening to see cops murdering people and getting away with it. These are supposed to be the good guys, right? Protectors of the peace. the people you call when you need a problem resolved. I imagine the person who made the call is feeling very bad right now.
