Faith is walking out on what you know.
Otherwise you would not get out of bed in the morning.
Patience is having the belief (not the knowledge) that "This too will pass".
Again- a faith response.
Cato, you must be a guy. Something about a one track mind?
Then, you see how the other guys fall into the same mode.
I am not biting on your ploy.
Quit conflating the "faith" of common life with the "blind faith" of your voodoo bullshit. They are not the same.

I wonder if either of you could say how you balance the onus to spread the word with the recognition that even members of your own family may come to a different conclusion regarding gods than you do.
Sounds like I'm fishing for the old homily about seeking the strength to change what you can and accept what you can't. How well do you feel you do about recognizing the difference?
I have a brother that's an atheist, a cousin that's indifferent and her brother I'm not sure, don't see him once every ten years. The rest of my family are Christians and most live like they are. From my mom right through to several great nieces and nephews, I'm quite proud of my family.
My feeling about those who fall away, well here I am at a site full of those who have. I hope and I do pray that each one here will return or come to faith in Christ, I do realize that not everyone will and maybe no one will but, it doesn't keep me from witnessing what I know is the reality of the matter. I know a few here think I'm trying to push my beliefs on others, however if one reads my post I think they will realize I know that God does the work of conviction and salvation and I no amount of pressing will make a difference. Some here think I'm condemning people to hell, not so, I respond to the things about hell ie., the reasons people go to hell from scripture, what I believe hell is, but no one here can say I've directly said they will be in hell. I have said that some here would wind up there if they do not change, according to scripture, not according to me.
GC
"Blah, blah, blah. Hell this, hell that, I'm not saying anyone will go to hell but in scripture it says yada, yada, yada, waffle, waffle, waffle".
I see nothing has changed - same delusion, different day.
Godschild...I SINCERELY hope you go to heaven...
TODAY.

You are currently experiencing a lucky and very brief window of awareness, sandwiched in between two periods of timeless and utter nothingness. So why not make the most of it, and stop wasting your life away trying to convince other people that there is something else? The reality is obvious.

How do christians view apostasy
December 15, 2014 at 3:51 pm
I suppose this topic has about run its course. Been interesting reading but nothing too revealing.
I'm not sure that I was expecting any christians to confess to ex-communicating an apostate child, that would be something.
What we've got are admissions of pity, sadness and such yet almost all the de-conversion stories I read talk about rejection, anger and much much worse from their own family in a lot of cases.
It doesn't seem to match up, unless the christians here are not typical of the mainstream, I don't know.

Who in the world would be motivated to join an atheist forum but an un-typical Christian?
You got all kinds / we got all kinds.
Umm Galatic, a not so cleaver ploy is to pretend words have different meanings than they have at face value.

Remember him? He wrote a dictionary.
