Even though I never really read the bible, we did have one of those picture ones for children. I don't remember, even when I learnt to read, ever imagining something like Noah and the flood to be actually true. It was placed alongside all my other fictional books and fortunately I had parents that didn't make it permanantly cross over into reality.
I sometimes wonder what it's like in your world Drich. To be an adult (I presume) but still have child like wonderment. To be trapped in a world where gods and angels really do exist but never show themselves. Just like when my children were younger and imagined pixies at the bottom of our garden but always just missed actually getting a glimpse of one.
It must be a wonderful place to be Drich so stay there by all means but don't let your make-believe thoughts spill over if there are grown-ups about because you just look silly.

You can almost hear him thinking "How can I put this in the least stupid way possible?" I have heard that the idea of creationism and a literal view of the bible is a mostly american thing. Aren't I so proud of my country?

We have some great scientists. Bill Nye is awesome. I grew up watching Bill Nye the Science Guy, and it might be worth it to find those episodes online. It's just that we have a few too many on the other extreme, and some of those have governmental powers.
I would have loved to be at that debate, and shout Bill! Bill! Bill!...

But Ham had the ignorance of people and ontop of that the creationist musuem grounds at that too, not a real fair debate arena. if i was there man i would be asking for his autograph when its all over.

So Drich finds Babylonian myth convincing now too?

There was not a chance in hell that Bill would be able to convince Ken of his position, especially since Ken is dishonest instead of just ignorant, but maybe he made at least one person in the audience really think about what they believed.
There were youtube videos about 20 questions people from the debate had, and some of them were pretty stupid, so the ignorance and dishonesty was certainly thick in that room. Hopefully it did help in the long run. I know I enjoyed seeing Bill Nye again. It had been a while since that 90's show.

At best, seeing a boat somewhere and just saying "that's Noah's ark," with no evidence or reason to believe that, is just a fiat assertion based in an argument from ignorance. Not knowing what the thing is, does not make it the ark by default. All the other things have natural explanations with much higher probabilities of being true (in that they're physically possible, where the ark is not) and again, at best they're an argument from ignorance, because "we don't know how this happened," which is the best that can be said about Krish's links, does not automatically mean that the first thing asserted near them is true. As it happens though, these ark assertions were dismissed with evidence, that's right there on the first page above you. So not only are you being a smug anus, you're also being a fucking liar.

I'm not sure what merited Drich thinking we were panicked.
I'm sure it's not projection. Quote:I am very proud of our scientists but i am surly not proud of the idiots who wave the banner of religion. I was just taking a shot at somebody's complete refusal to believe anything from youtube could be legitimate.
