It never made sense, I only did it to please my father because that was my only connection with him.
Mother Mercy, take my hand; guide me through this forsaken land. Father Time, return what's mine; the innocence you stole from these eyes. 'Cause I just feel numb...

If you mean when did the myths that we were taught stop making sense, for example Christianity in my case, then that would be around the age of 8, when I was taught on the one hand at the beginning of the earth there was Adam and Eve, while also being taught that millions of years ago dinosaurs where on earth in the same classroom.
The very start of learning about Islam didn't make sense to me, when people say they have a book from god, via an angel, who spoke to Muhammad, who wrote it all down in Arabic for me to read, but can never be translated properly.
On the other hand I've never given God outside of religion much thought, it's impossible to prove if he exists or not so it would be a waste of time to consider.
Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.
Impersonation is treason.

Stopped making much sense to me around age 15-ish (read the Bible), completely stopped making sense to me around 35-ish (took a course on logical fallacies).
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

I started with the concept that religion is synonymous to "nonsense", god came into the picture later and immediately got kicked out.

Despite having never been a believer, I've never had trouble figuring out why it makes sense to those that do. They'll tell you all about it, even when they don't realize it, and even when it has nothing to do with the words that are actually coming out of their mouths. Ask yourself this, ever seen anyone argue for god on it's own merits? I haven't...it always gets attached to some other thing, they argue for that other thing, then conclude god. That other thing is what makes sense, the implications to those other things, that's god - to them-.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

You cannot figure out a belief system that one is forced to believe or blindly chooses too. I guess its the chemicals in the brain that make them feel good to believe.

I became an official atheist (secret decoder ring and all) around 11. But to answer your question, God stopped making sense around 8 when I asked 'if God made us, who made God?' to my parents and they couldn't give me a solid answer.
